Um, well, in a five year span he did kinda go 20-0 (15) in consecutive world title bouts across four weight classes, beating opposition with a sum 729-38-19 record... But yeah. Whatever.
Ive only seen like his last 10 fights. Is this what he is known as a great for or was it his 31-0 run?
He and his amateur/pro rival Shane Mosley are each considered, though neither fought much great opposition there in their short times passing through, among the most ferocious h2h lightweights in history, as well as two of the best welters in a glorious era for welterweights. He beat twenty consecutive men, 15 by KO, in world titles bouts in four divisions. That includes two victories over ATG Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., and most of the rest are very solid names to have on your resume (Quartey, Leija, etc) He was Hall of Fame material before his first loss. In that last nine years of his career, yes, he lost several matches but he consistently took on the absolute best in the sport - to an extent that very few others do or ever have - and thus earned the respect of all (which he pretty much already had, from before, just cemented it)
he got robbed against tito...but got a gift against pernell... oscar never ducked anyone...and his resume is good if not great, even though he had several loses.... he has an exciting style with a good ko ratio...he is the real deal....
