never for boxing but have for fair few gigs and one football match (Villa v Blues, which is weird cuz i support Wolves) and cricket. I've paid over odds at times but more often than that I've paid under face value and got a bargain. First time i remember was Paul Weller at the Civic Hall 2003 The last time was England v West Indies cricket at Trent Bridge, it was the day of the Froch v Bute fight, I have no interest in cricket at all but as we were there for the fight had a wonder down, we got a ticket for a tenner (face value was £45 but it was mid afternoon so only a few hours left) watched a bit of cricket in the sun with beers before heading off to the arena to watch Froch smash Bute...top day!
Bought one off a tout for the Prizefighter with Choi, Matthews, Sykes and Buckland at York Hall. Decided to go last minute, paid a fiver less than face value. Pretty glad I did as it was a proper good show! Probably the best Prizefighter there has been. Always good in York Hall too.
Got a Rangers v Celtic ticket from a tout for £20, the game had just kicked off and he had 4 he couldn't get rid of!! Funny thing is i was offering £200 to anyone and everyone 2 minutes before! Was a class game too. Bought tickets from touts for a handful of gigs over the years and usually got them for under face value. I wouldn't go on eBay and pay over the odds, bands and promoters etc need to take more responsibility and stop these touts. some of them sell tickets on eBay before they have even gone on sale to the general public!!
