I'm not arguing "why" he's the draw. You said he needs to take risks to be more valuable, and I'm arguing that his safety first approach seems to be working out for him just fine as far as value goes. Is it dwindling down? Absolutely. But this "boring" boxer that hasn't brought in the "entertainment value" has been doing just fine.

True but the Marquez that night was not really a threat to Mayweather and Mayweather was indeed toying with him but didn't finish the fight which he probably could have done. Hence why he is criticized. Sure a decision is safer but people don't praise a fighter who always takes the easy way out.

    And?

I think Canelo was trying to preserve his poor stamina.

why do you think mayweather backed of marquez( not go for the kill)?

i tell why because he knew their would of been a risk of him getting knocked out pac fought marquez 4 times in each of those fights he went for the knockout not only the marquez fights all his fights he went for broke the rios fight is the only fight where he did not go for the kill.

You're definitely not wrong. Pretty much everything he's done works great for him and not really that great for the fans or boxing in general. This is why so many people dislike him. Sure its smart but I can't really respect it and I'm not the only one.

sometimes its better for a fighter to get rounds in, especially after long layoffs

Try every fight in the last 7 years. he went toe to toe with:

    JMM
Shane Mosley ( all night long)
    Canelo ( all night long)
    Victor Ortiz (all night long)
    Marcos Maidana( All night long)

I take it you don't watch the fights....

Mayweather himself explained after the marquez fight why he never went for the knockout he said marquez was fighting back strong and he played it safe

no, he was not scared of being knocked out by featherfisted Marquez.

He showed the world he could toy with a guy like Marquez without coming out of first gear

Maybe when a guy comes along thats good enough to make him stand and fight then we'll see. No one has.

    As for this "running" nonsense.

Look at the fight against Cotto, when did he "run"

He stands in the pockets and slips punches for the most part, hes not a "runner"
