Marquez hurt him with a body shot, round 8 i believe. It was close to a two point round without a knock down. this is the 2nd fight i am speaking of.

He admits to being hurt from the body shots. But not enough to deter him from continuing the onslaught. Even tried to rope-a-dope to prove he could take Cotto's body punches.

Someone who says he doesnt get hurt from body shots are probably wearing armors.

last time i think was the JMM fight, he did back down. But not enough to knock him down.

The body shots from Cotto were hurting him just not stopping him, you could see Manny back off a little or smile after some of the body shots. I think if Cotto was disciplined enough to continue his body attack, he would have stood a better chance. This is the type of discipline that both PBF and Manny have. The ability to stick to the gameplan even in the face of adversity.

In Mayweather Castillo I, Mayweather attacked the body early with jabs and straight rights, The commentators thought that those bodyshots took some sting out of Castillos shots in the later rounds which was to Mayweathers benefit.

Please understand that I am not saying the body shots devastated Castillo, tt simply took a little of the sting out of his punches.

Likewise if Cotto had maintained his body attack against Manny, he might have 1) Won the fight 2)Made it a closer fight or 3) Simply reduce the viciousness of the ass whooping he took.

I don't know how may of you saw it, but a vicious right hook to Margaritos body completely changed his demeanor in his fight with Shane Mosley. I think it took his fighting spirit away for a few rounds.

Tomorrow, I will try to find the video on youtube and post it.

Believe it or not, it happened. These shots were not going to stop Manny. They were simply going to slow him down overtime. However, after tasting Manny's power, Cotto went from switching between head hunting and running and trying to fight of his backfoot.

I don't know he would have won the fight. However, it would not have hurt Cotto to maintain his body attack.:yep
