When was Vitali Klitschko last involved in a really competitive round of boxing?

1st round versus Corey Sanders...........Before that he lost both rounds 5-6 versus LL.

    :good

Haye should trouble him early, win or loss. It should be an entertaining fight.

Let's go with this...he was down in this round, right? A slip though?

    Anyway, my question.

Because Haye was troubled a bit by Monte Barret. Because Haye hasn't done **** at Heavyweight. Because stylistically the advantage goes to Vitali. Because Vitali has an iron chin. Because of the size advantage. Because Vitali didn't show any ring rust after his long layoff, and before and after his layoff he dominated every opponent he ever faced. :deal

No. I picked Vitali pretty firmly.

He was atleast in a halfway house to the canvas. Vitali is my favorite fighter today but I always felt like Sanders would have won their fight if he'd been in any type of shape.

He did not dominate Lennox Lewis. He was up 4-2 but the whole fight was competitive and before the fight was stopped Vit was getting the worse end of things.

This is a pretty good post.

I think that there is a good possibility that Vitali could dominate Haye pretty cleanly (This is what you expect?).

But say he doesn't. Say Haye outspeeds Vitali and sorts his footwork out. Would you conceede that if Haye uses this (or some other) method to successfully draw Vitali out of his comfort zone we are essentially in unknown territory? That is, Vitali hasn't had to fight since early 2004?

I agree Haye has the skills and style to give Klitschko some problems.

It might also end up looking very similar to the Herbie Hide fight.

He didn't "dominate" Lennox, no. You're right. But he was beating lennox like no other fighter had. Blame Lennox's weak preparation or whatever, Lennox was taking a beating. The last couple rounds were close and Lennox was doing better. But aside from this controversial fight, nobody else came close to beating him.

I haven't seen TOO much of Haye so I'm not really "expecting" anything. From what I have seen i think Vitali will win. I will not blame the layoff, absolutely not. Vitali certainly isn't prime, thats for sure and that is a different discussion, he is getting old. But from what I saw in the Peter fight, he still has his speed and reflexes, he is smart, always stays in shape and will be ready for the Haye fight.
