Got up took like I was late for work after a short power nap, ate a monster left hook just to wake myself up a bit more then walked down the dosser hitting me because not a man born from their mother can defeat me.
I stood disbelieving looking at this skinny lad on the other side of the range who was about 50 pounds lighter than me wondering where the punch came from lol.
Are you referring to the same Who that Sam Peter wanted to fight? "I want Who Nex!". I don't believe he ever fought him. I don't know much of Who so I can't answer this question.
What was very cool about Leonard was his intelligence. If he got hurt too badly he would take a knee later in his career. Give himself time to recover with an eight count .
When I have been in pain during sparring I would fight back aggressively if I hurt my ego. But if I'm calm I will give myself time to heal before doing anything else if I have a break in the action. In this video around the 1:22 mark I ( black shirt ) go on the attack and press him against the ropes. He counters with two punches to my left side. They were well timed and hurt . I stepped back and was timid for a few seconds. I didnt want to show that I was hurt. Luckily he took a step back as well which was able to give me more rest. So I guess my plan when hurt is to bluff. Lol and more importantly looks like I slow down but try to go back to the jab. This content is protected
I’m pretty tall for my weight so I just step back quickly and land a hard shot from the outside so they don’t get aggressive. If your really hurt just take a knee.
In sparring I could be a bit smarter about it and hold or move. In my first amateur fight I got put on me arse twice by a shorter stronger opponent. Training went out the window as adrenaline, pride and nerves kicked in and I idiotically tried to walk him down straight away
I put my head on there shoulder cover my body with my elbows lean inwards a little but not enough to disrupt balance and use my arms to faintly feel which arm they will raise when i feel movement i bob down and counter... Watch Emile Griffth and Duran perform similar strategies in both panic and calculated situations.
Remmeber pain is temporary but glory is forever. Point at your chin and give your opponent a smirk, then punch back violently until one of you is carried out on your shield.
When was i extremely hurt during a fight? What did i do ? After taking a slow sustained beating in sparring for 6 rounds... I turned half back putting on a sour face waving my hands like some ointment had got in my eyes.... stopping me from legitimately fighting... before doing the full no mas.... where i proceeded to get clobbered by a potent left hook free shot from behind by my opponent for my trouble.... They were calling me the coward of the county for a week...
