Im guessing here but I don't think certain new posters helped themselves either, I don't think it was what they said but more of how they said it, some came to the forum as big I know more than you, you can't tell me **** about boxing attitude and was then told to **** off. That would happen in everyday life though, imagine walking into a pub, you never been in there before and you start giving it the Bertie Big Bollocks routine, chances are your going to get peoples backs up. I was terrible in my teenage years for it, I remember being in a pub for all about 2 minutes and was told by one of the regulars there ''to pick a window, your leaving''.
Oh yeah, new fans that act like twats can **** off. But what can happen on the general forum is someone asks an innocent question and then get laughed at for not knowing the answer just because they've recently started watching/following boxing. --- Wasn't Jerome one of the 'chincheckers'? :dead. He'll probably be around under a different alias. Laz did get a fair bite of hate on here as well, I'm surprised he didn't just go "ah **** these twats, I'm off". He stuck around, learned more about boxing, watched more boxing and can hold his own with more or less anyone now.
David Haye used to use the forum when he was a no mark. Do you honestly think David Haye would still be using the forum if the old boxing snobbery was still here. David Haye probably still reads the forum, but lets not get carried away with the past here. There's still loads of boxers that post here. But when a boxer gets to a certain stage in their career, i personally don't think its a smart thing to participate heavy in a boxing forum. Boxing forum is free exposure, and promotion. The only reason why David Haye was using the forum was to raise his profile, these days..? He does not have to raise his forum or give shout outs to eastside boxing.
I believe he was some kind of ''associate'' of the chincheckers, rather than being a full member. Speaking of cliques...........:blood Laz is a boss though, **** the haters.
i agree wioth the clique on here, esp when folk have met up for a fight and have all there little in jokes etc ! i would like to see more high profile guys come back ,but what is the point ? Remeber Rob Palmerss thread to WILLIE limond about him figthing for the WBU and the way he was all high and mighty,he did have a point ,but the way he acted was borderline sickening threads like that ,reflect badly on this forum .I come in and out ,but not as much as i used to and prefer to chat with some of the posters on my FB and on other forums ,but i will use the board still contrivbute certain posters think there some sort of online celbrity cause they like to be contraversial and "Tell it like it is " and its boring ...
very valid point...I know my boxing but at times I hold back from posting because too many want to play billy big bollox all the time
I agree with this completely the ones who came in getting aggressive to experienced respected posters calling people like Flea man an obviously knowledgeable guy a noob put regular posters off them. Also agree about some of the "insider" stuff. Similar stuff happened in the training section when Chal_Diesel joined and asked for advice whcih he got quite bluntly and was overly aggressive at responding to the constructive criticism. He probably felt quite 'bullied' or singled out but he had been negative to respected helpful members of the training section. When he chilled out and approached **** with an open mind he probably got a lot more out of it.
Yeah... the Chincheckers and ''Team Elite'' are far more cliquey than this joint ever was. I remember when ''Predator'' was exposed (sorry Gaz) for being Jerome, he started a big thread calling everyone fannies and that ''those who needed to know, knew who I was all along, you lot don't mean **** to me''. Proper little crew, eh?
There's been one elite smug, who has continued mugged you guys off. He is the biggest troll here aswell....... The people who are moaning about the forum, are only moaning because what they say is becoming more and more irrelevant. Some people don't even post here regularly like...."Strike" and now he is moaning in this thread. Fair play he is a good poster, but the kid waste too much time in the lounge with slags and the gay ass cliques there. This is like the Haye vs Chisora debate, when you had people moaning and crying about the fight. That don't actually pay attention to boxing, smugs at the BBC who are institutionally racist.
I never quite worked out why people immediately had a pop at Flea, yes he can be quite blunt but he's like that with everyone its nothing personal, people shouldn't take it to heart. People should remember that he is knowledgeable and if you asked him for help or a recommendation, he wouldn't tell you to **** off, he would go out of his way to help and point you in the right direction. Reading this thread it's clear most people only think about what they dislike about somebody and totally ignore the good points and what that person can add to the forum. Shame.
Rumour has it he has the nipples of a silverback gorilla, and that they have thier own gravity field.
