Lol I remember giving Hunter 3 or 4 rounds in that fight. It was a competitive one forsure. Usyk definitely was presented issues. Do you disagree?
No, I don't, Hunter was a problem for the first 3 or 4 rounds, as in they were all competitive, Hunter was never in control, but by the 5 he took over and dominated him thoroughly.
If memory serves me correct the fight was very competitive till the later rounds. Then Usyk took over. Not round 5.
I've watched it twice, and fairly recently, I still hadn't deleted it from my DVR a year later. After the 5th it was pretty one sided.
So I had it 7-4 Usyk. Don't know if I scored the last. Funny thing is I posted saying the fight should be stopped
Yeah it should have been, Usyk nearly beat him to death in the 12th, and see, that's pretty much in line with what I said, the first 4 were competitive.
Sorry missed this post I've only seen Fayfer a couple of times and I wasn't impressed by him either. I think so. This is what I thought the lineup is Fayfer vs Tabiti Dorticos vs Masternak Vlasov vs Glowacki Briedis vs Gevor They should've given his place to one of the other undefeated Russian CWs instead, like Yuri Kashinsky or Papin albeit the later has only had 10 fights and probably needs a bit more experience under his belt. Personally I wanted to see Goulamirian in there as I rate him.
Fayfer and Gevor are questionable choices but solid bracket otherwise. Yeah. Goulamirian would have been a good shot and maybe someone like Makabu... Can think of at least several other more deserving candidates just glancing at Boxrec. Speaking of Goulamirian... He's going to do a number on poor Mark Flanagan in a few weeks.
I've not seen much of Gevor either. Think I saw a few rounds of him once and it did nothing for me. Goulamirian looks like a really tough nut and a very difficult guy to dissuade from coming forward and keep off of you. I think he would've been a great addition to the tournament. Yeah it'll be interesting to see if he can stop Flanagan as the later seems pretty tough himself. Makabu would've been a good addition too.
Yes, I also rate Goulamirian … he's sort of like another Gassiev, similar style, good power, and a big CW. If he was in he'd have at least a decent chance against anyone in the tournament (possibly excepting Briedis, but who knows …), unlike Fayfer and Gevor who are almost certainly going out first rounf.
He's big, strong, has an iron chin from what I've seen of him, and he seems to have decent power as well. I'd pick him to beat Fayfer, Tabiti, Gevor, and I think he's a really tough nights work for Vlasov, Dorticos, and Briedis and he might even beat them too. This content is protected
