Cotto doesn't need to call Floyd, the fight will come to him, let Cotto clean out the 147 division and if Floyd still doesn't fight Cotto, don't say that it was because Cotto didn't called out Floyd.

Cotto knows that he can't beat PBF ... there's no need to call him out right now.

In this scenario Cotto is rolling the dice while Floyd is rolling in big $$$$$$$$$$$'s. Floyd's just waiting for the winner of the "Right to Fight Floyd tournement" to be complete, be that Cotto, Marg., or whoever emerges out on top. Floyd's going to make huge bucks along the way, more than if he fought Cotto next.

Cotto is risking a major $$$$$$'s, as others have mentioned, by not playing the Hatton card and calling out Floyd now. Is he really that confident thay he'll win the tournement, setting up the huge showdown with Floyd next year? Is Cotto just being true to himself by not flapping his gums? Is Arum instructing Cotto to act the way he is? Is Cotto concerned that he may not be able beat Floyd now, but down the road he can catch Floyd when he's on the decline?

Great post too bad the Cotto fans and PBF haters will say it's PBF's job as the champion to call out Cotto and make the fight happen.:-(

Cotto fans are even worse instead of bashing Cotto the CHALLENGER for not calling out PBF and making him an offer they bash the CHAMPION in PBF for not making the fight. They also say stupid **** like it's not in his nature to talk **** or demand fights. Is Cotto a puppet? Does Arum have his hand up his back or something? Cotto is a grown ass man and should speak up if he truly wants to get into the ring with PBF. Or maybe Team Cotto knows something that his own overzealous fans don't know and that's they want no parts PBF.:deal

When has Cotto called out any fighter? :huh You make it seem like he has a history of doing so. That's not his nature. But anyway, Margarito called Floyd out to his face, and what did that get him? Nothing but a punk ass "I'm making smart business decisions" reply from Floyd. Funny how you say Cotto should grow some balls, when it's Mayweather who lists specific reasons why he wouldn't fight Cotto or Margarito. Yet, had no problem taking on the Sharmba Mitchell's and Tata Baldomir's of the world. Even funnier that you're criticizing a fighter for having a "I don't care who I fight as long as I'm properly compensated" mentality. When it's Floyd who has been quoted as saying "It's not about proving to the fans who the best is," and clearly takes fights with maximum pay, and minimum risk. If anyone needs to grow some balls, it's Floyd.

i think cotto should take control or a little at least of his own career....i mean stating he wants to fight mayweather isnt childish or disrespectful he just wants to fight him.....im not sayin he is wrong or right but outright stating i want floyd is fine and doesnt have to mean anything else....so far he just plays the fence...by saying" ill fight him if he wants to fight im not scared of anyone"....some may see that as him calling floyd out but he's not...he simply is passing the buck or dancing around the question no more than floyd is....doesnt mean neither is scared or ducking they just are waiting for the right time...both parties are half stepping in making this fight but it'll happen hell we went through this with Hatton and it happened so im sure this fight will too.

    :yep
I wouldn't say Floyd has to necessarily call out Cotto, or vice versa, but I do think it's Floyd's job to get this fight....That is if he's a true champion. He wants to cement his "legend" status then he should be taking on the best in the world...Not strictly going for paydays. There's no reason he should fight DLH again when he should be fighting Margo, and then fighting Cotto. Beating these 2 young, warriors would do a lot more for his respect level/ career than beating DLH again would do.
People want to tell how there the best, but yet when it comes time to PROVE it...They don't want no part of that.
This fight will happen eventually. Floyd is a bit of a coward, but I don't see him retiring to avoid Cotto. I'd bet Cotto will be his retirement fight. Since it will be I hope to god Cotto fights like hell to knock Floyd out because if he doesn't...I'd bet Mayweather would get the decision almost no matter what. Right now I just can't wait to see how he fares against Margo, and get to see that brawl.

The challenger MUST call out the champ.

What part about PBF is the Champion and Cotto is the challenger don't you understand? Cotto wants what PBF has not the other way around. The responsibility to make the offer is on team Cotto period. Just like when PBF went out of his way to challenge Oscar and fight at 154 on his terms just like Hatton did by challenging PBF at 147 and fighting on his terms Cotto must do the same.:deal
