Fair enough, I thought you were American for some reason. Then I guess your failure to observe the aforementioned distinction is less forgivable, after all.

You are correct, I'm Italian. Lived in the UK since the age of 4 (with spells in North America).

I guess because he came off as less of a jerk (though he did have a bit of a swagger about him pre-Khomitsky, it was a milder variant than that exhibited by Yarde).

I've crossed paths with Yarde (as have other people I know), and he does come off as a bit of a jackass. That said, I'm far from his most vocal critic here. We'll find out who or what he is in due course.

^ Having said that, I thought Buglioni stunk and was very harshly critical of him back in '12, '13, '14. I could care less about soccer, so the 'top geezer' footy casual stuff doesn't really buy much credit with me.

In fairness to him, since then, he's actually worked hard with the measure of talent he does have and has improved a bit. He's still only an EBU contender at best, though.

Tbh , i never rated Buglioni that highly either and Yarde would obviously get slaughtered at world level , but they're good additions to the domestic scene which is why im not critical of either of them. Yarde is not even past British level honors yet and there's Euro level before even considering the world stage.
In the mean time there's great battle against Frank to look forward to thats bound to happen sooner or later.

Well, on the one hand, I'd quite relish Yarde going in with Kovalev tomorrow so he could get that reality check he and his mob are inviting upon themselves post-haste. On the other hand, a guy like Kovalev represents too large a step up at this point, and there are potentially good fights to be made with Yarde at a more intermediate level, as you say.

The idea that a 20 year old novice in his first year as a pro needs to step it up is ludicrous. Dubois is only getting the attention he has because the Brit heavyweight scene is in the spotlight at the moment.

Parker turned pro at 20 and stepped up vs Takam after almost 4 years as a pro and people thought that was too soon and too big a jump up in class. Have we become so impatient now we expect boxers who have fought only a few fights at such a young age should be stepping up?

Honestly Dubois needs to be gradually brought along, he has years before he should start putting himself into serious contention.

Correction acknowledged and appreciated. Back to fronting notwithstanding, I did mean the 168 lb Chudinov and not the 160 lb brother (although I gather that he's since moved up).
