Gatti was born in Italy but raised in Montreal. He has dual Italian-Canadian citizenship. Lennox was born in England to Jamaican parents but he has Canadian and British citizenship (his mother lives just outside Toronto).

The question of identity is never as simple as that, is it?

There is your family, your tribe, ethnicity, race, nationality, there is your religion, your family values and background, your education, there's your environment, your social class, the structure you work in, the people you work with, your friends, the people who care for you and support you...etc. all of that helps make you the person you are.

In the end, your ethnicity, race, nationality, background, education and socio-economic class don't matter. Only thing that matters is what you do in the ring and your professional demeanor outside the ring. Anyone who has influenced you or who has helped you become who you are can have a claim over you. We should be grateful that foreigners are adopted by certain countries and helped to become the fighters we can all enjoy watching today. Were it not for these countries and their people, we wouldn't get to enjoy these fighters.

Of course, there will always be scum out there who will hide behind nationality/race/ethnicity/religion, etc. Someone like cityofgod wouldn't know it, but a great Brit once said: "Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel."

 

What excuse? I don´t need a excuse for anything. Germany does now what the US did 60-100 years ago. So where´s the problem?

Peter, Miranda, Barrera, Gatti ... to name just some non-Americans who fight out of America. Why is it okay with them but not okay for Germans to sign Cuabans or Eastern Europeans or for Candians signing Romanians? Double standard? Or are you just a troll? Either way you are an idiot.
