I think the politics of the sport has knocked him about a bit also, but as a big GGG fan, I don't want to see him on the floor with a fighter standing over him that wouldn't be worthy of the win a few year ago. I know that's how it goes in boxing, but I want him walking off smiling at a great career and contented !
Same here. I wouldn't be surprised if he walks away after 3 more fights, maybe even 2. I think we'll probably see him have at least 3 more, though.
Yeahh too many fresh young hungry fighters are making their way through, dont see him retiring undefeated, wouldnt be surprised if Eddie Hearn managed to get Jacobs that WBO belt and Jacobs beats GGG in a unification rematch..
That will take some time if it's ever happen Next is seem's is the Canelo rematch in may 2018, then there is the final unification with the WBO beltholder (Lemieux/Saunders) the Jacobs rematch or the Charlo mandatory also a fight with Murata might be huge in Asia
He has the perfect style to assess what hes got left. Hes too tough and skilled to fall apart in 1 fight, hes just bringing less and less with every fight he has now imo. Haters with agenda's will say its down to the increase in comp quality, which I can agree with a little, but its not the full picture. Hes 36 soon and with 350 amateur fights and a pro over 10 yrs he looks slower all round. Hes boxing skill is off the chart when you study him and underated badly. Hes catching more as well too
He has enough money now to retire to Kazakhstan and live off yak milk and mutton for the rest of his life... no need to live through the quagmire of Adelaide Byrd-type decisions after a couple more lucrative bouts.
I don't know, he might have already seen the scorecards for the rematch. I'm sure Saul and Oscar have.
Sounds like you're blaming Charlo for his opponent coming into the fight with an injury! He beat the guy that made him the mandatory for one of G's many belts! Nothing wrong with wanting G fighting a young starving lion!
You act like these people have any shame. They do what's best for them and whenever they get caught they just repeat the same lies over and over again until they've weathered the storm.
Golovkin will avoid him like the plague like he does every opponent that is a threat. He ducked Lara, he avoided Paul Williams and Sergio Martinez. He ducked Ward and Froch. He was hesitant to face off against Cotto. He ducked Mayweather at 154 pound catchweight. Should have been disqualified against Lemieux for that illegal punch. Got a gift decision against Canelo. Lost almost every round to Jacobs but got a gift decision regardless. Golovkin is a protected fighter. Had Pirog not injured himself Golovkin would have been knocked out. Fact is Golovkin wont even be top 20 in any other era. I could name 50 fighters that could have beaten him in the 90’s and early 2000’s. Also there is a good chance that he is not being drug tested, VADA is protecting him, they need a Kazakhstani star to appeal to the major audience. Also if he ever fights the Demonically possessed Charlo you could bet your house that Charlo will be drug tested every week, while Golovkin will be given the privilege to take as much Putin approved Steroids and human growth hormones he desires. It also doesnt help that Golovkin always wants to fight with favorable Kazakhstani officials.
if those "fresh young fighters are so damn good, why aren't they fighting each other? Jacobs and Charlo are the two most conspicuous offenders--both claim to be #1, but they aren't even trying to make the fights to prove it. Jermall Charlo: abandoned his JMW belt and declared his move to MW over year ago; since then he's had one fight against a fighter who entered the ring so impaired he could barely move and certainly wasn't able to put anything behind his punches. Charlo could easily fought again in two months, but he's been inactive since this July 2017 fight and no plans (as of this moment) to fight again. Daniel Jacobs: who believes he's the best MW in the world; has made his case by sitting idle for eight months after his loss to GGG, and then winning a decision against Luis Arais, an opponent Jacobs hand-picked and had no prior wins against a Top 10 MW.
Golovkin will fight him when has golovkin not fought his mandatory unlike other fighters but if he can get a bigger fight and still keep his title why wouldn't he other fighters do it
