Meh, he is entertaining, had little amateur career of no real note, university boxing isnt the same as club. Tbh he is being treated right just get him out under the lights and fighting regularly. As long as he doesnt start claiming to be the next p4p best (like benn) i dont mind this approach
Super slow is the right way with Fisher. He hardly had any amateur fights, he's raw, and he's very young for a heavyweight. He's actually a decent long term project. Not as bad as some make out.
Fisher is a good bloke I hope he is brought along at the right pace. Won’t have a fury type legacy but I’m sure he will do just fine, Bosh!
"He's not fighting Usyk" another industry inside info Gem. I guess today's press conference was 'for the bants'
the one thing he does do is qualify his wins with something humble normally, he doesn't pretend he's the next coming like Babic. He sells loads of tickets so they'll keep feeding him low quality opposition. Easy work if you can get it but not really a sport.
I hope Matchroom remains patient with Fisher. As another writes, he has almost no amateur experience. They have to be very careful who they match him against.
exciting to watch he is too, no idea what his level is. I like his family too, he never slags people off and is clearly a nice hard working young lad just wish they'd temper the "he could have been a city hot shot, he has a history degree, yet he chose boxing". I have a history degree....
Fisher will be on the Joshua Whyte II card in a 10-round title fight. That is quick for someone who had about 10 low-level amateur bouts. This way they can keep Fisher high up on cards in London in title fights rather than 6/8 rounders and also keep his fans interested.
No but don’t expect it to be a name you’ve heard of. Will most likely be a European fighter with a low KO percentage and not much risk.
Great addition to a PPV card then. Pay 27 quid on top of your DAZN subscription and watch Bosh Fisher knock over a Latvian cab driver and shout BOSH to his fat dad after.
I would agree with you if it wasn't for the dad and the "let's have Chinese for the cameras" nonsense after the fights. Johnny himself seems pretty down to earth and not in any rush.
