yeah he can beat some complete bums, but the last straw was him losing to that streetbrawling nobdy kimbo, and now all the MMA fanatics talk about how a novice MMA fighter beat an ex heavy champ and gold medalist. dammit, mercer....cant the marines give you a job doing something? stop embarassing boxing and quit
i actually respect mercer for stepping into the octagon where he was bound to lose. Remember kimbo slice when by choke out. mercer was slimplly trying to whether the early storm before he would launch is own attack. but since his grappling was weak compared to kimbo, he got chocked out before he got a chance to do anything.
It was embarrassing watching Mercer in K-1 . It was pitiful , he was knocked out in like 30 seconds. Yeah, it certainly is embarrassing to boxing.
Thing is, Kimbo wasnt even a novice MMA fighter, he was just a streetfighter who trained MMA for a couple of months and that was hi 1st fight. Even novice boxers dont fight ex world champ & medalist for their debut match.
