When will people realize Al Haymon is not a chairitable figure?

    Seems like many on this site seem to believe he is Santa Clause. He isn't doing you any favors... He is only trying to make money. The fact that you blindly accept anything he does as "great" is sickening. The more you praise a business, the more they try to get away with.

    I do not praise any promoters. They are trying to take my money. To give them any more power than they already have would be foolish of me as a consumer.

    Hes a friggin boxing manager.

    Of course hes not running a charity.
    Neither is Arum,De La Hoya, Hyde, Shaw, Duva, and every other manager/promoter.

    That doesnt mean hes not doing something good for boxing.

    Steve Jobs wasnt a charitable figure either, but I still think my Iphone is pretty cool

    Haymon has a private equity firm underwriting the losses. The plan is to distort the market, monopolise all the broadcasters, and drive competing promoters out of business.

    I don't get these straw man arguments. Who is saying that he's Santa Clause? It's like people get offended if you don't hate the man. I don't know much about Haymon. What I do know is that many of his fighters swear by him and they are well compensated. I also know that his PBC series has the potential to make the sport more accessible. I don't know why I'm supposed to hate the guy because of that.

    ya al haymon reads esb forums...everytime he sees a thread/reply praising him he gains the confidence to keep pushing forward

    also bob arum isnt in boxing to make money...from day one hes been all about helping fighters and making them the most money

    i know you are an idiot and troll...but ive seen others say the same

    yes he gave u you salka/garcia in order to save garcia/peterson for nbc instead of showtime? so what...you said the same about herrera but it was competitive and danny got taken.....everyone said fonfara was garbage and a mismatch and he gave stevenson a fight and ko'd chavez.....he put matthysse/garcia on a floyd undercard when he prob didnt need to and could have used it for a showtime fight....you haymon haters love perpetuating this myth.....but the pbc series has given us some good fights/matchups so far

    They're all in it to make money. He's trying to build a brand, you can't destroy all of your stars too early, then you have nothing to build on. He's trying to be Bob Arum.
