He’s so young and hasn’t beaten any top guys at 135. I like his potential but if he’s moving to 140, he needs a couple years before he’s beating the top of this division. Haven’t even seen him fight a top 140 pounder and I don’t favor him against top three or four. At 135, he’s got potential but has holes in his game he will need to address. Let’s enjoy the ride and hope to see him fight better opponents before putting the crown on self proclaimed “king” Ry. I like the kid but he’s not a finished product yet. Still beats Tank.
Most likely never. This is not due to the relative quality of Garcia's talents. It's more due to the fact that, recent spate of unification bouts aside, becoming undisputed in any weight lass is tough to do. The politics, timing and ever present lure of moving up in weight to make training easier make anybody becoming undisputed unlikely One reason it may be a better possibility for Garcia than for others is that, like Canelo, Garcia will drive the money so guys will want to fight him because of the payday. As far Garcia himself, he certainly has some skills and power but the man has a a lot of stylistic flaws that become problematic at the elite level. I just can't see him being able to do it
