I mean I dont think there's any real prospect on the scene thats making big waves and looking like a massive threat to clean up the division. No Tyson like figure...no Lewis like boxer...nothing. Its been weak for so long now its not funny. Why? The USA for many many years ruled the heavyweight division and now look at it! The Russians have took over!!

These Russian boxers are not worse than previous HW´s. They are only not as entertaining. Thats the reason why a lot of so called boxingfans think the HW is such a weak division. Technically guys like Povetkin, Chagaev, Haye or Solis are world class boxers. The Klitschkos are dominant HW´s....
The US never will rule the HW anymore. Believe me. Every year there comes another Russian HW out of their training camps somewhere in Sibiria.
And if the Russians are a little bit fed up with it, than the Chinese will take over (10-15 years from now on). Thats for sure...

No way. Arreola is entertaining, but he is nothing more than a street slugger.
But thats a little bit what i said in my previous posting. People define the HW not because of the skills of the boxers but if its entertaining or not....

A few guys are strong, there just isn't a great deal of depth.

I don't see either of the Klitschko's embarrassing themselves against any great heavyweight.

Povetkin is a solid prospect, and would be in most divisions. It's only because he's got these bemoths infront of him things look tough.

    Haye is a good wildcard.

Not much below that, this is the main problem. And of course none of these particularly excite Americans.

David Haye has the potential to do very well but theres too many question marks surrounding him. Lets just imagine he does do well. He could be a stop gap for a couple of years, fight the 2 klitchkos to make entertaining fights and fingers crossed, while this is going on, a few young fresh heavys step up and make the division exciting again.

The chinese wont rule HW boxing anytime in the next 50 years mark my words. They just dont have the big guys like the Euros and Americans do. The may well be a huge force up to about middleweight though.

Haye will inject some much needed athleticism into the division and I hope he will clean up. I heard somewhere a few years ago that the reason the Americans don't produce many good heavies anymore is because all the big, natural athletes either get pushed or opt for (American) Football as it pays more. This could be total tosh and I'm sure someone will tell me if so. If that is the case there isn't much prospect for an American heavyweight champ anytime soon

It will be a very long time before you see another Tyson. Probably about the same timespan between Jack Dempsey and Tyson himself.

Until then the guys with just a little bit more height, power or skill will rule.

When that day comes though you will see that skill, height and weight are not the end all and be all.
