Because this isn't the WWE. Golovkin claims no one wants to fight him yet I don't see him going around throwng out offers.

Again, this isn't the WWE. Some guy calling you out after a fight is not equivlant to an actual offer. That's a fight that can happen down the road. For now, Ward is a SMW.

Ward is not a LHW. When he is ready to move up there, those fights can be made.

Because Groves was more interested in rematching Froch. If Groves beats Froch, that's a fight that can happen.

Kov hasn't had any big wins according to you. By your standards, he's not even fightin any legit challenges. I never heard anything from Ward about moving up to LHW and fighting Kovalev. However, when he does move up, that's a fight that can happen. For the life of me, I don't know why so many on here expect fighters to snap their fingers and make fights happen. It doesn't work like that. Ward is a tremendous fighter who has already proven himself. It's pretty confsuing that he's getting trashed in favor of less talented, less proven fighters.

Did Ward fight Dawson in 2013? Nah, that was 18 months ago.

Cloud was still more accomplished, ranked higher than Rodriguez. Same for Cleverly.

You wanna talk Dawson, look at what Stevenson did to him at his natural weight, not at a weight he hadn't made in ages...

Chad's twitter from Nov 2012 in response to a fan's tweet who wanted to know why he went down to 168: "I was told to say that" i.e. Shaw & HBO had written the calling-out script for him.

Barker, Murray and Macklin had more credibility on the world stage than E-Rod did. That was my point. I never said E-Rod was a trash opponent either.

Why should he? He said he would make 154 or go up to 168 "for the right fight" which infers other parties making offers to K2 "for the right fight". Sanchez said multiple times in interviews that they were focused on 160, but would deviate from that plan if "the right fight" came about.

Fighters call each other out all the time to make the fight and make a buzz, either they publicly accept or publicly refuse, and then we know whos ducking who. Im not saying its like WWE at all

It doesnt look good when Stevenson calls you out and all you hear from Ward is tumble weed

Ward has publicly called out Mayweather, and publicly called out Froch on Sky Sports after hes already beaten him. Plus he's talking a lot about Chavez. He's only calling out fighters who will be an easy win

You are making it sound like there are no legit fights for him, so are we stuck watching him fight the likes of Rodriguez

From the P4P #2 i expect more. If hes going to be number 1 he needs to win some risky fights. Kovalev and Stevnson are getting plenty of hype, so im saying fight them now before they fight each other or get exposed

    Im not doubting his skills

Didn't Golovkin do the exact same thing to him? After Golovkin said he'd fight anyone from 154-175lbs.?

    Some double standard you pose.

Is that "the exact same thing" though?

    1. Saying you're open to fighting in certain weight divisions

    VS

    2. Hey Ward, I just got Dawson out under a round at 175, how about I fight you in Oakland at 168 with a rematch at 175 in Montreal?

Double standards would be if i said GGG is fighting legit challengers, but no i didnt say that did i? GGG is not doing that at all. But GGG is not P4P top 10, let alone number 2.

Im not on that GGG bandwagon

Took me five seconds to find why Ward would dismiss him:

“(Ward must) sign a two-fight deal that guarantees a return to Montreal at 175 pounds,” said Michel. “We won’t give (Ward) all of the advantages!”

    /debate

What's so evil about that deal? :blood

Stevenson packs a 20K attendance and a few mills in Canadian PPV.

Andre Ward is THE man at 168lbs, why would he contractually oblige to a two fight deal with Stevenson?

How is that end of debate?

Basically what its saying is this, one fight at your weight class in your home town, and one fight in my weighclass in my hometome

You saying that as a reason to prove Ward turning the offer down is more proof that Ward doesnt want to give any advantages or leave his hometown

Andre Ward is the man at smw.

He should not be forced to make two fight deals as the world champion.
If Stevenson wants him so bad, why does he not relinquish his belt and get in position to be Wards mandatory?

Because Stevenson is now the man at 175, and a world champ, and he would make millions, and add a 2nd weight class to his legacy

Stevenson realises this, so whats stopping Ward?
