    Uhm, no?

He's one of few men at 175lbs.

Andre Ward is THE MAN at 168lbs.

    Therein lies the difference.

End of the day they are both world champs, one is calling the other out, so we know who wants this fight

This thread was about Ward will not take on a legit challenge, and that challenge has called him out = silence from Ward

Just proves that Ward refuses to fight anyone in their backyard

If Stevenson offered to fight Ward at 168 in Oakland, im sure he would have accepted

True. So as a fan would you not love to see Ward face Stevenson at 175 in canada? That would be epic, id love to see how he handles it

And to shut people like me up. Id like to get behind him, hes a good dude but imo hes going to have a career full of cherry picking, fighting people at the wrong time and at the wrong weights

That challenge is made from above Wards weight class, trying to contractually bind him to a two-fight deal.

Either way, Kovalev is banging on Stevenson's door, soon enough we'll see the lineage established at 175lbs.

I much rather see Stevenson-Kovalev in the summer.

What do you mean he's a cherry picker fighting people at the wrong time, and at the wrong WEIGHT?

He cleaned up 168lbs, fought and beat Froch & Kessler comfortably, what do you mean wrong weight?

Stevenson became the man at LHW when he beat Dawson. Unless you think "the man" does not translate into having the lineal title in a weight division.

What's that policy you're talking about with this "should not be forced to"?!? It's business, and Ward would have made a **** ton of cash with that deal. Would also have come out with two wins, one of which would be away and at a higher weight class.

Why would you not take that deal?!?

    :lol::rofl

Stevenson did not become THE MAN by beating a faded Dawson coming off a loss.
Kovalev-Stevenson will answer this question, Dawson did NOT.

Have you perhaps given it a second thought? Golovkin has expressed interest in fighting 154-168lbs'ers, giving Ward a potential great payday and legacy building fight.
Also, Chavez Jr is at 168lbs now, no? That's a fight that would garner lots of attention.

Wrong time as in, if he fights Stevenson, Kov or GGG after they have lost a fight it wont nearly be as great

And wrong weight, his plan is to win titles at 175 and cruiser so i expect a lot of drained opponants and catchweights :hey

You are ASSUMING THESE THINGS, you can't call him on it yet as it has not happened.

Hopkins thinks differently. "Stevenson is the man to beat at 175. He beat the man who beat the man."

Chavez Jr is indeed a SMW now but I'm not sure TR wants to throw him in with Ward when he has trouble dealing with the Veras of the world.

Okay thats fair enough. And nit picking things is taking me off topic, all im saying is people have nailed down Ward as the next P4P, as if he has nothing else to prove.

He most definately has a lot left to prove. He will never be THE MAN in boxing if he doesnt fight a legit challenger where he doesnt hold the advantages. Think Mayweather in his early days. Especially considering the noise some other fighters are making

If Bradley beats Pac (cleanly), nobody on here is gonna tell me Ward belongs above him P4P

Of course Ward will be higher, because Bradley has arguably lost his last 3 fights.

No one has come close to beating Ward yet.
