    Peter that is.

He had a reputation as the second coming of a heavyweight named Ike Ibeabuchi who was a fearsome specemin.

Peter had a look that could churn the paint off walls, he was an angry man and he had concussive ko power.

Wlad took the best peter had but kept on coming and beat Peter in a WAR.

Afterwoods Peters rep took a dive, but i still remember how much of an underdog Wlad was and how great of a win the Peter fight was.

One of the most underrated performances in the history of boxing.

  2. No. Who feared him? He was scary looking but so is Wlad when he means business. Tyson could make Wlad **** his pants.

WHAT?!?!?!?! Dumbest thing I ever heard but coming from a Klitschko fan its almost normal at this point. Everyone knew Peter was limited and his only chance to win was by KO while they knew that Wlad could either easily outbox him or maybe even KO him because his chin was unknown at the time.

Good win but he did get dropped 3 times so "one of the most underrated performances in the history of boxing"....... Not a shot not even close. And even if he didnt get dropped as limited as Peter is the victory isnt anything amazing and his performance is whatever.

agreed, it wasnt for a title, so went under the radar. got off the canvass twice as well.

But wins can end up being more or less rated depending what happens after.

Like Pac De la hoya or Calzaghe Lacy. both underdogs that won but cos of what happened after dont get much credit

Fear is when you make an ATG **** his pants to the extent that you annihilate him in 91 seconds.

Wlad may have done it for 1-2 fights
Tyson did it his entire career

Great win for Wlad and great fight.

Peter was the favorit in this fight at this time nobody cares about Wlad but he fought the fight of his life with Emanuel Steward in the corner.

Peter was in fact being heavily hyped up by HBO as a power punching, granite-chinned titan going into that fight, and Wlad was clearly terrified of him before he gassed out later in the fight. However, this nonsense about him being more feared than Tyson is laughable.

I'm still confused by the Peter hype. The best fighter he stopped was glass-chinned Maskaev, and that was only a TKO. The only half-way decent guy that Peter ever stopped cold was Jeremy Williams.

I also don't understand the praise for Wlad's performance in that fight. He was so scared that he was turning his back to Peter and running away for the first six rounds. He didn't stop fighting like a ***** until Peter was dead tired and his sloppy looping punches were literally missing by feet.

    Peter was hyped, not feared.

Doesn't make him an easy challenge though.

Highly feared because of a KO over a shot Jeremy Williams. Who never had a chin to start with.
Let's not get carried away. Peter was a serious player (for a spell) but not to the extent of striking fear into everyone.

Many expected 'Who necks' to shatter Wlad's jaw into a million pieces. Expectation was kind of like Maidana-Khan. Peter in his prime was a hell of a beast, and Wlad found that out getting knocked down twice. He did well to survive. Underrated victory for sure.
