That's a fact. There was NO WAY Brewster was getting back into this fight. And when you're facing someone who can punch like Wlad...you don't have the option of simply letting it all go for one more round...if you keep yourself open and Wlad catches you...you could be seriously damaged...this guy's arguably the biggest puncher in the division. I applaud Brewster, I think he did what he had to do. He didn't have to tools tonight but I still think he can win a different belt.
I am a fan of the fighter that Brewster once was, and do not applaud his effort tonight. He didn't touch canvas, he was not busted up, and he did no so called "Sam Peter dance..." The only thing Brewster did was show up. I can relate... I too have had days where I just show up to work, and do absolutely nothing but "earn" my pay. I try not to make it a habit...to see that type of performance in a world title fight is basically nothing short of pathetic. I hope Brewster stays gone so we can remember the tough fighter he once was. I have no interest in watching him make another heartless trip to the bank. :smoke
Brewster wasn't knocked down he was pushed. I don't call the ref signalling a knockdown. It's not Wlad's fault that this is a hollow victory, but the fact is Brewster came to collect a large paycheck and retire.
Lampley tried to pass it off as a legit KD, luckily for the uneducated LL corrected him and stated it was not "Brew's fatigue," but WLAD forcing him down by placing his weight on Lamon's back. Peter was not out on his feet :rofl he was momentarily dazed, and it was a brief moment.
B.S., he had no choice,he got desperate...Brew got his ass kicked tonite. He was going to get seriously damaged the next round or two and he and McGirt did the right thing. Brew can still bang with best, but not with Wlad.
