I would rate all of those wins above Corrie Sanders:

    Tomasz Adamek
    Chris Arreola
    Samuel Peter
    Kirk Johnson
    Larry Donald
    Vaugh Bean

    You're just shamelessly trolling.

theres an exception to every sweeping rule.

Should I have written 99.9% of the time? Would that be conclusive enough for you?

But well done in bringing up those few exceptions.

Those are just the ones that ACTUALLY won significant titles off the top of my head at that age, I didn't even list all the contenders in their late 30s that were still wearing the belt, fought for the belt, or made an impression on the division like Larry Holmes, Archie Moore, Joe Louis, Ron Lyle, Muhammd Ali, or even this Lennox Lewis character . I'm sorry, you just don't know the history of the sport too well. You made a stupid claim and I called you out on it, best be quiet or you'll humilate yourself further. Little boy, Sanders fighting for the title was nothing new or unique. Obviously its not the norm but there are too many exceptions to your ignornant rule.

    OK Vladdy......humor us?

Most of this is true, and most ppl don't deny it. But, where's the credit to Lewis for targeting the cut he opened up with the OH R. If he didnt effectively target the original cut, he wouldnt have gotten the ref/doc to intervene.
It was Lewis's tenacity that kept him in that ring long enough to get that stoppage. A yeah, Vitali was winning, and almost dominating, but Lewis kept coming forward. He kept slugging it out. He fought on through what must have been 6 minutes of hell, seeing that cut and not getting the immediate stoppage.
As far as Manny being pissed......well.......considering he was set to make almost 6 million bucks for that rematch......yeah, I'd probably be pissed too.:think

I argued with him over this for like 20 posts yesterday. He clearly DKSAB.

He's confusing modern HW's with minimumwieghts from the 20s.:lol:

Oh, I forgot Harry Willis who was a feared avoided contender until he finally lost to Jack Sharkey while approaching 38 years of age.

 Holyfield was 37 when Lewis won the belts from him.

Historically, just a division thats been more kinder to older fighters. Patterson, Ali, and Tyson were the freaks.

Yes I see, greg page, gerry coetzee, francesco damiani, leon spinks, herbie hyde and michael dokes were way way better champions than vitali. :patsch:roll:

Vitali will be remembered like Marciano did. Dominant but was unfortunate to do it in a weak era. Still an ATG. Legacy will be more kinder to him once he is gone.
