At this point you got to go with cotto..but I was impressed with berto's ability to handle adversity.

You need to sit and watch the fight again. I'm a big Berto fan and after intially watching the fight I had Collazo winning by 2 points. After watching the fight a second and third time I only had Collazo winning by 1 point and that stemmed from the deduction. 3-4 points is absolutely absurd. Collazo is a quality fighter that I would rank in the Quintana and Judah tier. Of coarse he's no Cotto but none the less is a difficult challenge for any welter.

To be fair I do need to watch it again. However, Berto must be at the same level as Judah and Quintana then...Cotto took care of both of them. Admittedly the first 3/4 rounds of the Zab fight were tough but Zab is ****ing good when hes focused. But Cotto destroyed Quintana, a fighter I think would give Berto more than he can handle.

    Just my opinion

Berto needs at least two more good fights before Cotto or it will be Cotto by KO in later rounds

At this stage fighting Cotto would be an awful decision for Berto and if I'm Dibella I would hold off on fighting him, Mosley, or Clottey for at least 2 more fights. Berto does have the natural ability to be a special fighter but still is lacking in a few areas to be a serious threat to the elites of the division. With improved foot work and a more consistent jab he can be that serious threat but I do agree he's currently not at this stage for those top welters. I do however think he would make an entertaining fight with whomever he gets put in the ring with including Cotto.

Hmm for the Berto Collazo fight it was close. But Collazo was badly hurt in the last round.

This appears to be the only point we disagree on. I say Cotto TKO 6

Im guessing you think Cotto UD in a tough fight?

That's my estimation. I haven't truly seen any real evidence to support Berto getting knocked out against Cotto. If anything, Cotto has the more questionable beard.

Well that ain't hard to estimate as both are action fighters.

    well we know these things

berto ALWAYS COMES TO BATTLE! and will go threw hell if he needs to
    berto bangs
berto is not invincible & @ times vulnerable
Cotto always comes to battle and has been threw hell as well
    cotto bangs
cotto is not invincinble & @ times vulnerable

they both have more leftover to prove & are both hungry to do so...

this fight when it happens ( 1 year from around now) will be a classic

I like Berto, and despite being given a gift decision against Collazo, he fought a good fight. Regardless, Cotto knocks out Berto in mid to late rounds.

This gets to me a bit. He used to get wobbled at LWW where he was completely drained and therefore very vulnerable. At welterweight, Zab has wobbled him and thats about it (if you ignore the Marg fight - which i put down to a broken nose in the 2nd round). Mosley, who KO'd Margarito (who has a great chin), never troubled Cotto with his power.

And even if you do take the Marg fight into consideration Cotto took **** loads of clean shots (probably delivered by loaded gloves) and wasnt Ko'd (technically he obviously was but I mean he wasnt out cold)

I agree that there is no evidence to suggest Berto has a dodgy chin, which is why I say Cotto TKO 6

I agree it would be a war. Just looking at these two fighter's style, **** it would be a barn burner. Im not sure, but Berto does have a mean uppercut and cotto has always been subsceptible to them. It aint going the distance that's for sure.

I agree that the questions surrounding Cotto's chin are a bit unwarrented but if we're comparing who has the more suspect chin between Cotto and Berto then in my eyes it's clear that it's Cotto.
