DelaHoya was the WBC champion at 154 and had just brutally knocked out the Nicaraguan.Hatton was elite and undefeated,he was a lbs4lbs fighter even Brian Kenny thought Floyd was ducking. There wasnt any difference in the weight because weight was immaterial in this.I hope you also know that Floyd didnt fight for 2 yrs

How can Hatton be called an elite at 147? Most people thought he lost to Collazo at 147, Hatton used 147 as an excuse hence why he moved back down to 140. Meanwhile, Floyd who everyone claimed was a natural 140lber too small for 147lb chooses to drag Hatton up to 147lb instead of fighting at 140lb where everyone claimed was their natural weight...why?

IMO DLH at 154 was the last elite fighter Floyd fought. Even then, how elite exactly? DLH beat a taylor made fighter for him in Mayorga, a willing target as Lampley put it with a flush left hook that would have taken out anyone. IMO DLH would have had trouble with any fast slick fighters at 154...just check out his last 3 opponents who all gave him trouble...even a natural LW in Forbes.

Judah was viewed as the best WW in the world also. Then he lost to Baldo.....so Floyd beat both of them.

Mayweather took everything out of Hoya no wonder even Forbes gave Hoya trouble. This always happens, check how Hatton performed against Lazcano after Floyd had beaten him.The point however is that when Floyd fought Oscar,Oscar was a great fighter.

Hatton said he wasn't ready for Mayweather when they were at 140.

DLH was was excellent while he was at 154. But once he started dropping to 150 and 147 he was finished.

Funny that you don't mention the win over JMM.

Whatever credit Floyd had gotten from fighting DLH, Pac flushed it down the drain a year later... and how the hell you call Hatton coming up 7 lbs. immaterial? He was a career jr. ww.

Too much people are buying into his hype. All he has is the potential
    to be great.

so jmm isnt elite now?..i mean yeah he wasnt in a good weight class when he fought floyd....but as they say size isnt always relevant especially when fighting someone like floyd who does not throw his weight around in the ring..

whats funny is most of these fighters were considered elite till floyd completely outclass them...

Somebody also said that Oscar couldn't pull the trigger and was only a shell of himself on his fight with Floyd also. Floyd squeaked by with an SD, Manny kicked his ass until he quit.
