Where are all the Fans that Wanted Pac to Fight Marquez

I'm a casual fan but the only guys I really critique are the Mosely and Oscar wins.

Hatton was #1 at his weight class and undefeated, there is nothing wrong losing to someone as great as Mayweather.

Cotto hurt Pacquiao a few times in their last fight and hell, Margarito nearly dropped Pacquiao with a body shot.

I think you listened to Hatton and bet your house, so much rage and anger.

Some people just don't understand just how big Pacquiao really is.

Regarding Pacquiao's weight, If Pac stops the super high protein intake and drops down to a closer to normal <3000 calories a day he wont weigh-in more than 142lbs and might even come in lower than 140lbs. My guess is he will do what is a little less comfortable and limit the calories to <4000 a day and continue a high protein intake to make sure he comes in over 140lbs.

Pac. is the Welterweight champ & #1 P4P and has a much higher profile than Marquez. Pac. is already offering to fight @ a weight under the championship limit. He's not even obligated to give Marquez a fight but people still complain about Pac. not fighting @ 140, the Jr. welter limit. Not much to complain about from where I sit.

 

I'm one of those fans that wanted this fight.

Do I think Marquez will win? No.

Do I think he deserves the payday before he retires? Yes.

Do I think it will be entertaining to some degree? Yes.

Do I think Marquez has a small chance of pulling an upset? Maybe, but likely not.

 

I think Manny could give two shits about Floyd.

I think Floyd's goal is Manny, just because his ego is hurt.

I think the Bobfather ultimate goal is Pac/Floyd, just for the payday, but it will be Manny's last fight if it happens.

My prediction is that Manny has 3 fights (or less) left in him before he leaves to go and do other things.

I never thought Pacquiao was ducking JMM. As as JMM fan, I thought that with his prime reflexes and best weight in his career's past, he would do best to enhance his legacy with even further longevity at 135 and then move up to fight the young guns at 140. He would stop Alexander, beat Bradley, give a FOTY with Maidana, and even give Khan some trouble.

Now that he's finally gotten it, the fight with Pacquiao, I'll have to support him no matter what. Even though we don't think he'll be at his peak best and against more than a few disadvantages, JMM fans know that he will give all that he has and come in in the best shape possible, taking every precaution seriously. After being nervous at the news of this fight, I'm now a mix of anxious and excited. As the fight nears, I'll be eagerly awaiting the chance for a hero to either accomplish one of the greatest victories in boxing history, or end his career in a blaze of glory like a Mexican should.

And i aint complaining. Im just getting ready to watch JMM school Pac for 12 rounds again.

 

Only in the ESB can a much loved boxer, who actually fights in the most entertaining way possible, is a complete gentleman, came from a poor background, gives money to the poor, willing to fight the best ranked fighters who are clearly at least 1 or 2 above his ideal weight class, and is probably the p4p fighter.... Can he be hated on!

Felt like i was the only one in ESB that has continued to support this fight... seems like alot of others have lost sight of that big picture they once had seen...

 

Its not about a payday for Marquez. Simply its the Pacquiao fight he has seeked all along.

The Mayweather fight was to measure himself against the very best complete fighter of his era in the face of Pacquiao refusing a 3rd fight with him.

Marquez could have simply walked away of the Mayweather fight when Mayweather refused to make the contracted weight limit......as well he could have refused a 3rd fight with Pacquiao if it was'nt at 140 lbs, but the reality is that Marquez is'nt in any position to call any of the shots.
If Marquez refuses Pacquiao at any weight over 140, simply he loses on the opportunity to fight him.

Pacquiao is both a money and legacy fight for Marquez that he would not gain with any other opponent out there.


One thing should be made absolutely certain, Marquez is'nt in this for just a payday, and posters like yourself are going to find out about it come November.
