ESB, a bit dissapointed scrolling through the fight schedule. There isn't a single fight to get excited about now till the End of August when Maidana takes on Guererro and then We get an exciting couple of months. A bit dissapointed. Are there any fights i'm overlooking that could be worth watching over the next 4 weeks?
Helenius is fighting in 4 weeks. Chagaev vs Potvetkin later next month as well. Same card? Tua is rematching Barret next month I think. Kelly Pavlik has another comeback fight next month. Edison Miranda makes his debut at LHW next week. Madaina and the Ghost are fighting next month. Lamont Peterson is finally fighting again this month. Plenty of action IMO.....a little scattered yeah, but so far this year has been a good fighting year, and only looks to get better IMO with Floyd and Pac staying busy, Wlad, Vitali, and Arreola fighting again soon. The lower ranked HW scene has finally started to flow a bit. The CW scene wide open with Tarver in the mix and BJ Flores getting back into it. The LHW scene is pretty lame for now, but is active if nothing else with Miranda adding his name to the list hopefully. The SMW division is in the grips of the tournament so that class seems tied up, but after the Ward outpoints Froch, maybe we'll get our superfight. Pavliks return looks to lead him to Bute later this year. The MW scene is flowing nicely. The JMWs continue with nice fight's almost every month. The WW and JWW division is bringing us the best fights IMO, while the LWs and below have always kept us satisfied. Was a pretty great July so far and will continue till the end of the month. Aug looks a bit slow, but Sept is right around the corner.
For the most part August is the slowest month in the sport. Networks would rather put big fights on in the fall, when people are back in their homes, summer vacation is over.
