I'm a Hopkins fan myself and I enjoy them, always enjoyed those tactical fights. It's a style in boxing after all and I personally enjoy watching all styles, Hopkins is too old and his age is what forces him to fight this way. People keep tuning in thinking Hopkins might fade and possibly get knocked out but he proves them wrong and they keep tuning in, I think even Hopkins is begging to get KO'd so he would stop. It's already amazing that he's 43, on P4P lists and is actually competing in the high level.
He just wants to get a Roy Jones rematch and retire,he said 2 more years and that's it,presuming he wins, which he will. But he still is boring but has that ''it'' that makes me wanna watch him,for some reason I loved the Calzaghe fight
I actually enjoyed the Calzaghe - Bhop fight as well. My wife and I are going to the Pavlik - Hopkins fight with another couple and we are all excited. Pavlik's relentless pressure and size against Hopkins craftiness and skill. I think it will be a pretty decent fight. In the end, Pavlik will win in similar fashion as Joe did, with high volume of punching but with more punishment. Hopkins will hurt Pavlik at some point though and that could change the fight.
People are 'predicting' another hugfest like they saw in his last fight. I doubt it. So, we shall see.....
I find it interesting that Pavlik is now saying that he expects to take over about the 6th round. That's pretty close to what I've been saying all along. BHop will keep it close and keep Kelly working his ass off for the first 4 or 5 rounds. KP will take over in the mid rounds, and by the 8th Kelly wll start bouncing Hopkins around the ring like Kobe bounces a B-ball. Pavlik KO10 Hopkins.
