Yes of course I was... I was certain a guy with 30+ career fights, no punching power and 5 knock outs on his record, who has been fighting with one hand for years due to several surgeries would have dropped and retired Ricky Hatton.

    Get real dude.

Also, why do Brits travel across the pond just to drink Pabst Blue Ribbon?

    Fair enough

No idea, I'm not a Brit.

The chanting, singing and booing is a European thing I guess. It's just banter, it's part of every big sporting event over here. It's fun, being drunk and singing. If that means not having class, call me a dropout.

you have these fighters but still dont support any, Pavlik V Hopkins was 9000 wasnt it? You get that for a 3rd tier football match in the UK, let alone a world title boxing match.

exactly, the £ has gone from £1 to $2.10 down to £1 to $1.48, yet more Uk fans travelled over for the Hatton fight than US fans travelled to Europe in the past 20 years combined.

cause we dont care.. we have a bunch of fighters to choose from so unless one is really "that special fighter" we dont give a ****... especially seeing how boxing has been kinda swept under the rug recently with the lack of big time fighters (maybe the post tyson era) ... american's are spoiled when it comes to sport... loyalty is brushed aside for performance.... what that means is performance is more important than loyalty... never will you see a team that performs badly or isnt a team that is a major spotlight team with a large fan base.. nobody wants to support a shitty team... college sports represents what sports should be about a little more because their is a stronger display of loyalty but when it comes to the pro's .. if your not performing nobody cares

1 you have no more sports than the UK.

2 You have all these fighters but dont support ANY! 9000 for title fights, if they arnt at these fights what fights are they at? Secret ones?

3 Loyalty is brushed aside for performance? you mean yoo are all glory-hunting ****s? Is this why you dump your fighters after one loss? Williams train went missing! Lacy train went missing! The list is endless.

like i said nobody really cares about boxing unless you are destroying the competition in devastating fashion (a la tyson)

and it is what it is... in america if your not producing results nobody cares about you... we are very focused on the final product...and the williams train is right here and it aint going anywhere as long as he steps in the ring

Excalty, thats why they always saying USA needs a HW fighter, got nothing to do with economy bull****, fuk that ****, the thing is boxing is becoming less popular nowa days(in the states and canada), and yeh i know we don't like to admitt it, but its the truth. Only loyal boxing fans will order fights, but only when the fighter is interesting or there favourite. But you never know, it might be for the best, the boxing promoters and promotation are greedy mother fukers, let them know, they gonna be losing money, and if they want to bring back the sport, they need to do change or they will need to bring a STAR

    it is what it is.....

i mean if i had to take a successful franchise

    the boston celtics

    i would say that

10-15% were fans that stuck with the celtics through thick and thing
65%-75% of fans are bandwagon fans
the left over fans are fans of the team because of select players on the team

now if i had to take a shitty team

    the new york knicks...
id say all the current fans are true fans because they are supporting a bad team... but then when the knicks turn it around there will be a bunch of idiots who never liked the knicks cheering for them..

just how we treat our teams & athletes...

    nobody likes a loser

so you agree, its not economy or anything like that, its simply the fact you are **** fans? How come Lacy never brought any fans over? He was the mini Mike Tyson, undefeated, something special and still brought nobody over.
