lol are you that dumb? Floyd is the champ at 154, sergio states he can make 154 to fight canelo. If he can make the weight then its fine. Canelo hasnt said anything about fighting in 147. Unless floyd vacates his belt, he should fight canelo.

The champ at 154 shouldn't fight at 154 :nut. Thats your arguement? Canelo makes the weight so he's the 154 champ.

Chavez did not outweigh Martinez by almost 20. Sergio himself has been as high as 170.

Margarito was dead at the weight because he couldn't make 150.(The same would probably happen to Canelo if forced to dry out.)

In these next 2 weeks the stock of both Martinez & Mayweather will fall off a bit.
    (They won't look themselves)

I'm a fan of both guys, so I wouldn't mind seeing it happen. I'd kind of like to see Canelo develop just a bit more before taking on a top pound for pound guy though, just for the sake of making a better, more interesting fight.

Check your facts...Sergio was 167 on that fight night. Chavez JR rehydrates to well over 180 - Roy Jones estimated he was close to 190 but realistically it was more like 185. So yes, around 18lb difference between them on fight night - rewatch the fight and look at the size difference...

As for Marg, he made a whole career at 147 - the worse drained he was was against Mosley where he weighed in at 145, he had been 180lb a few weeks before the fight. He had 1 fight at 154, and then made 150 for Pacquiao - so he was able to rehydrate back to 165 on fight night - he was 160 against Mosley...

Make the excuses you like, point is Pacquiao and Sergio have fought guys with the same sort of size difference as Mayweather v Canelo

Nosay, you got to understand Mexican fans are willing to put their fighters thru the grinder and throw them to the lions. Hell yea put Canelo with Maravilla Canelo now actually does have a chance, but if he gets beat at least he pulled up his pants and fought Maravilla. Canelo just packed an arena Floyd never did that at 22. Actually Canelo had expressed interest in fighting Maravilla it was Sergio who wasn't interested because he thought Canelo wasn't ready prior to the Austin fight. He's ready now.

I dont see Floyd beinf afraid, and I expect Canelo/Floyd in a huge cinco de mayo 2014 clash.

Floyd has made a career out of fighting guys 10-15 lbs heavier than himself.

    Canelo will be no different

Both guys are skilled and hit pretty hard which would make a great match-up. Martinez beats him at the moment imo, but he is 38 and can drop off any fight.
