In the old school boxing there were a lot brawlers. Dempsey, Armstrong, Marciano. The kind of guys who fought mentally "I take you out, or you take me out". Why we're not seeing any of them so often?

The recent brawlers that i've noticed have been Marcos Maidana and Jean Marc Mormeck had some success with it in cruiserweight.

Manny Pacquiao used to be a pure full blood brawler. But after Morales 1 he turned into a technical puncher.

But you right we dont see many of them

Most have adapted the "hit and don't get hit", or "run and don't get hit" method instead of the "hit your opponent harder as you get hit" approach.

The last option makes for better fights though.

i mean all sports evolve.. maybe we have just seen boxing evolve past such styles ? you can be a brawler and also be calculated and skillful a prime example of this would be duran. such an amazing offense game people completely overlooked the fact he had a good defense aswell.

    Ruslan
    Kirkland
    Matthysse
    GGG
    Rios
    Mansour
    Maidana

To name a few... obviously they are almost all better than brawler status but all come to kill or be killed
