Loved Fenech as a fighter...those heady days when Lester & Jeff rose so quickly to world prominence etc. Haven't been a great fan of Jeff since he retired at all. However, last tuesday night on Channel 31's KO Boxing show he spoke very well throughout the half hour show, and seemed to be sincere as well. Fenech said that when he was in Green's corner when Danny beat Eric Lucas he got more excited than when he won his own world titles - and I reckon he meant it. Jeff's no angel but he's won a few points back with me the other night.
Jeff Fenech is meant to be a complete ass of a man. A loudmouth and show off who throws around a hardman image of himself. Shannon Taylor from the same mould. A friend of mine who trained in Australia spent time around them both.
The Sun reported that Bugner arrived in Australia with a cool £2m & managed to blow the lot on the usual disastrous business ventures. They also claimed his back trouble was crippling him.
