Where are those Brits who were saying the German boxing audience is boring?

You don't know **** about football if you think Premier League games are like a funeral. When have you ever known English fans to be quiet?

If you watch the RTL or ARD versions of fights from Germany, you'll find that the audiences are always loud and boisterous.

Very often, Showtime and other US telecasts from Germany have the commentators sitting in the US calling the fight while watching a screen with the German commentary and other sounds turned off. That's why you can't hear the crowd.

Similarly, the UK commentators will often call the fights from a screen in England.

Fair play to the German crowd during that fight! I commented in the round by round thread that the atmosphere sounded pretty electric.

I think it's just the klit fights where the stadium is filled with 60,000 robots :D

To be fair I think the German boxing fans that show up to the smaller fights (Stieglitz, Abraham, Huck etc.) can't be compared to the Champagne sipping crowd the K brothers draw to the big stadiums.

I don't like the atmosphere in Germany, German fans are like football fans at a boxing event, many of them don't understand boxing and just cheer every thrown punch by their favorite fighter, landed or not.
They are not boring at all, but I prefer the atmosphere in USA or Japan where you can hear the crowd whenever any boxer lands something good, cheering when their favorite boxer lands, a shocked and stunned expression when the opponent lands big.
When fans from different nationalities are involved in Germany, like in the Povetkin-Huck bout then it becomes better. The crowd at Haye-Wlad was very good though it was a chess match. In Europe there must be fans from both sides, then there will be a good atmosphere.
