Let's not forget Lewis went life and death with a fat and inactive Ray Mercer. There is also a chance of him getting caught with a big right hand like he did against McCall.

  2. If You can KO a pro fighter in the ring, you can handle some wild arm puncher on the street. It's not as if street fighting is more scientific than boxing.

 I definitely favor Lewis if they fought but Bowe is a tough guy and there's no way he gets RTD especially in 3

I don't think Lennox is a good street fighter. I mean, obviously, he would obliterate a great most of folk but I think a guy like Rahman could handle him on the street. He was actually winning that wrestle in the TV studio.

This. A lot of it is mental strength and resilience, and those aren't necessarily qualities you acquire from having a tough upbringing. Lennox had a good upbringing with a loving mother, but he was genuinely tough guy, confident in himself and his abilities. Contrast that to Tyson, who had the tough upbringing, but when Mike was faced with tough challenges he wilted. By his own admission, his behaviour towards the end of his career was just an act.

Manny made reference to the fact Lewis had a mean streak and wouldn't take crap from anyone. Not sure of how he grew up but a single black mom raising her kid in Canada means she probably didn't live in one of the nicer neighbourhoods.

One thing about Lewis is that he certainly knew how to use his size and strength to maximum use. he was a big guy who fought like a big guy.

My boss used to go to high school with Lewis, he says that Lewis was always a bit of a bully; that he was quite willing to push others around. That being said, this is a highschool in Kitchener (Ontario), so it wouldn't have been particularly rough.

So yeah, maybe he just got used to being bigger than everyone and imposing his will on others?

Since when is being a good fighter, street fighter or otherwise, dependent on growing up in a tough environment? Fighting skills, toughness, courage, etc. can all be learned or honed regardless of environment. Sugar Ray Leonard, Ali, Klitschkos -- there are tons of good fighters who didn't grow up in the ghetto.

Since when was Bowe a street thug? I don't recall Bowe having any criminal record or run-ins with police or anything prior to him becoming a boxer.
