Exactly. I mean, barring the use of a weapon or extra people joining in, what the heck is so special about so-called "street fighting" that a professional, trained martial artist, i.e, boxer, won't be able to deal with?:huh

Street fighting seems to have this mythical, almost shadowy connotation that somehow trumps all other forms of combat. I don't get it!

I think that maybe what you are really referring to is his versatility. All of his sneaky rough house tactics could very well have been taught to him, or he could have even developed them himself in sparring.

Lewis always was a great innovator.

Imo, street fighting is like a combination of techniques, many of them rough house and dirty that you'll never learn in a dojo, to deal with different types of physical confrontations. A street fighter with a lot of experience could very well beat a trained martial artist that knows little about fighting besides kung fu point fighting or some crap. If you have never fought for real, against someone resisting you 100%, then you dont know how to fight. You could spend 50 years training drills and katas and you still wouldnt know.

Lennox owned Bowe. Didn't even flinch, said he was knocking him out to his face. Bowe was the one who got emotional. Lewis called him chicken Bowe after

Bowe proved his words were a load of hot air throwing his belt in a trash can soon after refusing to defend against Lewis to fight Michael Dokes and Jesse Ferguson. How anyone can see this video and incident in Bowe's favor is beyond me.

  7. Lewis looked a bit scared once Rahman stood up... But overall when you have PRIDE you don't need to have grown up in the streets... You will stand up for yourself regardless. I grew up on 125st right off Broadway... I did not get into too many fights though but til this day, my pride will not allow someone to **** with me. Either you have self respect/pride or you don't.

I don't believe streetbrawling is even a skill. I believe a person has a fire inside of them to be the best at whatever they set their mind to, and I believe Lennox Lewis has that fire.

You are on fantasy island though, with saying Vitali thought he could brawl with Lennox, because even with the cut, Vitali was doing an excellent job against Lennox.

Isn't there footage around of a sparring partner getting sick of Lennox and dropping him several times with grappling moves?

If that is Lennox getting dropped like that then it would count against him.

Going by the sheer amount of dirty tactics employed by Lennox to survive Vitali's onslaught, i'd say he knows a thing or two about street fighting

Jeremy Williams. Important to note that Williams does have a grappling background.

Probably not. I'd end the fight before it got too interesting.

Now, go wack off to some Kimbo Slice backyard brawl videos! :yep

Bowe was MUCH better than Lewis at that stage of their careers.
The best Lewis may well have beaten Bowe, but not then. Bowe would have beaten him.
Bowe was the better fighter(at that time), had the better trainer, Eddie Futch v Pepe Correa, and had fought much better opposition.
