New England. Some fisherman decided he was sick of the daily toil meeting demand quotas and figured out a way to please tourists with the bycatch, tossing a few shoulders with some mayonnaise and serving it on a hot dog bun. He opened a little shack with his wife and they ran it together until both reached triple digits, passing within days of each other, both serving their shoulder rolls with a smile and plenty of napkins until the very end.

Nicolino Locche used the shoulder roll plenty off the top of my head. Argentina though.

The Gans-Herman fight is the earliest I have seen it done on film.

Jack Dempsey does it against Georges Carpentier.

Everybody acts like rolling punches off your shoulders- and you roll a hook, too- is an esoteric art. It used to be standard training in the old college boxing manuals- I collected many- and is a part of the hugely influential St Paul style.

You can't bring your shoulder high enough to cover your temple, I've always thought if you could feign to get someone to shoulder roll you could land the actual punch as they're covering up, would have to be fast reflexes though, someone like Charles, Patterson, Ali could probably do it

Gans uses it a lot in his fight with Nelson.

Fosbury may have been a flop, but household safety was forever transformed in the mid-1950s by the invention of the Roger Bannister, construct of a raised handrail for staircases. Prior to that, people suffered injury and death falling when climbing stairs all the time with no handhold to grab onto.

Unfortunately, a new safety issue was created when kids figured out that they could slide down the Roger Bannisters (the intended execution being without incurrence of any injury - obviously, not always the case).

The Roger Bannister was so well polished it is said that one could slide an entire mile on it in under 4 minutes.

Hey Steve has a full 20 round fight ever been recorded and preserved in its entirety?

That’s some serious, nut crushing speed when you straddle slide and your balls hit the finial (big ball) at the end of the rail.

Been there, done that and was fortunately still able to procreate later on in life.

It's nice to know that you crushed your Michael Johnsons at the end of the Roger Bannister but could still Usain Bolt your load Pug.
