Donaire's p4p top 5 based on more than just his skill set. He's had a lot of very solid wins in the lower weight classes against World level fighters, as well as the 2 main ones vs Montiel and Vic.

Donaire has been ranked P4P since he flattened Vic , thats the debate right there (skill set / ability over run of opponents / resume)

Solid performances against Narvaes and Vazquez Jr , but thats all they were , not a great deal in them shows to suggest he's going to knock over the upper weight classes as was predicted 2 years ago

He has wins over Marquez and Moruti Mathebula as well. Both currently top 5 in their division.

He has Vic, Mthalane, Marquez, Sidorenko, Montiel, Narvaez, Vasquez Jr & Mathebula. All top ranked opponents in their respective divisions, just because they're not as well known as people like Abraham & Glen Johnson, it doesn't mean they're not as legitimate tests. Plus factor in the fact Froch has lost twice if not arguably three times in his run, then there really is no comparison.

So all in all, them two wins aren't just about it. Plus they are both bigger wins than anything Froch has because of the higher standings they had before the fights. Not knocking opponents out is completely irrelevant in his p4p ranking tbh.

    This.

This is where most lists are a load of garbage and make no sense. Bute was in most peoples top 10 or fringe before the Froch fight. No disrespect to Froch, and I am his biggest fan, but Bute was not as good as many thought, although he faced a man that night that he would never be able to beat. Too much fire. Froch won big in that fight, as people have no choice nut to say he is now P4P worthy, even though just after the Ward fight, most non-Brits were saying Froch was sub-standard and was schooled like an amateur etc.

Froch is just around the ten mark, and its not just based on his heart, determination etc that is ignorance, the man can box.
