Wlad is the greater H2H because of his far superior technical skills, he's also got greater power, better timing with more sharp, crisp, accurate punching and a better jab and able to control the distance a little better. His defense is also better. His resumé is also a bit better than Vitali's, so I'd rank Wlad in the 15-20 range or so. No exact positioning. Vitali is probably 20-25.

Greater power is the only thing Wladimir has over Vitali and arguably a better jab. Better defense, counter-punching, footwork, reflexes etc. Vitali is the more skillful and natural boxer. In a H2H match-up even his jab would come second to Vitali's due to the better skill set of the older brother.

No disrespect Tommy, but I disagree mate.

Imo "Prime" Vitali is a nightmare h2h for almost any heavyweight. That does not mean I favour him over all the greats, I most certainly do not, but when he was "In his prime" which was before his retirement, he would have been an extremely difficult fighter to beat. Wladimir, on the other hand, far all his superior skills has a vulnerability about him that I leads me to believe that he would have lost to more "Greats" than his brother.

Imo "Prime" Vitali -vs- "Prime" Wlad (And Wlad is probably in his prime now) ends with Vitali defeating his younger sibling via tko.

But of course, that is only my opinion.

Well that makes a lot of sense. :patsch

Vitali would beat Wlad though, Vitali can take a punch and Wlad can't.

I do not understand how you can have Vitali above Lewis (Never mind half a dozen others).

Vitali could not defeat a past prime Lewis and Lennox has a far more impressive resume.

I appreciate that it is your opinion but to place both brothers so high does seem unjust.

:good You could go "All technical" regarding a hypothetical Vitali-Wlad match-up, but the deciding factor would probably be, as you rightly pointed out, each guys ability to take a hit. As a result, Vitali wins (imo)

Nope. Wlad is a technically polished boxer but too stiff. The boxers that embarrassed Wlad couldn't lay a glove on Vitali.

I don't think a man like Vitali ever heard the truly explosive, concussive one-punch power to have given him a winning record against the very best heavyweights.
Also,my impression through his career is that he wasn't expert at shutting down his opponent in the clinches. His toughness and capacity to take a punch would be seriously tested in these situations.
