Where do we rank Tua if he beats the Klits

    Tua is topical at the moment, so i pose the above question.

    I know most will say they give him no chance, but the fact is that Tua is aiming to fight these guys and nothing is certain in boxing, he could beat them. So, if for arguments sake, Tua wins his next fight, is given a shot against Wlad, and knocks him out with a big shot (not out of the question given wlads previous reactions to big punchers), and then he beats Vitali in the Rematch again not out of the question given that Vitali seems to be aging, or maybe if you prefer he just retires after fighting Wlad.

    My question is where would you rank Tua as an ATG in these circumstances, and i guess it also begs the question, what would it do to your ranking of the Klitchskos?

    For mine, there is nothing Tua could do to move himself above Lewis, and by association, if he beats the Klits, neither of them could get anywhere near Lewis, in ATG Rankings, i think they would drop out of the top 20. Now i think about it, it also gives an interesting lift to the legacy of Ike as well, who i think might then move towards Riddick Bowe type levels.

    Im a Tua fan but he wont beat the Klitschkos, hes just too short. He may have had a good chance in his younger days.
    Anyone that beats both Klitschkos is a candidate for ATG in my opinion, they are 2 very good champions.

    Im not sure why he's topical either, but he is a perfect candidate for hypothetical threads because you know what you are getting with him in terms of a great chin and power.

    Dont get me wrong, I dont think he will beat either, because of his age. But he is definitely a live underdog. Tua likes to bang with his left hooks, and being outreached will mean nothing to him, as he will try to do his damage on the inside. I have watched Wlads three knockouts recently, and i cant agree with the exhaustion theories. If Tua lands and i think he might (as opposed to will) i think Wlad loses.

    The interesting thing about this is how it effects the legacy. I am starting to agree with the Wlad sneaking towards the top 10 ideas at the moment. The fact is time is going faster than we all would like, and he is cleaning up the current scene as well as anything. Tua is interesting, because he really had/has a set place near the top of his era (the previous era) but not quite at the top. I just wondered how a win would effect eachs legacy ( as opposed to debating if it is possible because anything is).

    Personally I think it would reflect more adversely on the Klits ,than positively for Tua. Given how Tua reacted, after sampling a couple of rights from Lewis,[ ceasing to try and win,and opting to survive imo], I don't think it is something we will have to contemplate.

    If Tua beat either Klitschko, I think his legacy would go up. Tua to me is a top 40 ATG even though he never won a title. If he beat either Klitschko, top 25-30 is possible.

    If one of the Klitschko's beat Tua, if would help their legacy a tad, as Tua has a pair of 1st round Ko's over Moorer and Ruiz, plus a controversial late KO over Rhaman.

    If the fight ever happened, I think Tua would get shut out, and possibly stopped. Tua is too short, and lacks the skills / stamina to make a fight out of it.

    I agree with you on Tua's chances, and I am a one eyed fan but he really only has a puncher's chance with them.

    It would improve his standing massively no doubt, because at the moment it would be very hard to see him defeating either of the Klitschkos at the moment - Wlad too well-versed at fighting from range, Vitali too busy and durable.

    I agree that this Tua (or any Tua) shouldn't be favoured to beat either Klit, but it's pure bull**** to say he's "too short" to win, the real reason he'd lose is becuase he isn't good enough - he lacks the skills.
    Frazier & Tyson would stop both Klits. :deal

    Tua was disappointing 10 years ago against Lennox Lewis.

    In 2010, Tua v. Klitschkos would be an intolerable bore. I wouldn't even bother watching.

    I guess we would rank him somewhere in boxing fantasy land. It would be interesting to see how the Klitschkos would deal with a short powerhouse. They would still need to box a perfect fight to keep Tua off of them, and all it takes is a counter off a lazy jab or missed righthand and it could be over.

    He wont, so dont even waste your time thinking about it.

    I honestly dont think that he is going to beat anybody in the top 10.

    I think Arreola has done fell out of the top 10 so its a mute point.

    Wlad/Tua would probably look like the Chageav fight, maybe he stops him...Viitali also should win easily, maybe a few scary moments where he has to do that goofy skip thing and get out of a corner.


    At any rate, loyal Tuamen already rank him as an all time great who would destory Quarry, Marciano, Frazier, Dempsey, Tyson, and possibly Foreman and Louis. Wins over Wlad and Vitali would make him the GOAT in their eyes.
