Where do you guys rank Manny Pacquiao all time status

I don't think people can really rate a fighter on the all time scale because most of the time, people don't realize how great a fighter was until years after their retirement. For example, Muhammad Ali probably wasn't considered the GOAT until years after his career was over.

 

I voted top 20, but based on how much people love him right now, specially writers who write the history of the sport, he will be even more loved when he retires. Dont think Duran was touted as top 10 greatest fighters of all time when he was fighting...

 

Duran was touted as the greatest LW ever after he ended his spectacular reign in that division

the win over Leonard sealed his spot as a top 15-er

 

Pac at the moment is ranked in MOST top 20 and he's not even retired. History has shown that special fighters like PAC who transcends the sport are held in higher regard AFTER retirement.

Once PAC retires he'll have a lot of folks OVER rate him and may place him in the top 5, which in my opinion he's not there. He could legitimately be in the top 5 if he continues to strengthen his legacy like he has, but right now PAC is considered the best fighter in the last 15 to 20 yrs and his accomplishments are recognized and respected by the boxing world.

It might be interesting to see a list of fighters where they were taght of being in then and where they are now, if i recall correctly lennox lewis used to recieve a lot of stick but he grew on people over the years. on the other hand a guy like trinidad seems to go down.

 

Im wondering where you have manny from the 70- till now, excluding Ali. because his prime was in the 60's and hs carreer overlept.
