You are statman, I remember your statman thread arguing Floyd > Duran.

However it's not the stats that compare here, it's that Davis has never once proven himself the best, in any division he's fought in. Canelo and Inoue have.

Oddly, The Ring has him at number 1 at 135, arguably the deepest division in boxing.

It's not odd at all,, he's just knocked out Martin.

The ring had Lopez there, Tank never fought him.
They had Kambosos there, Tank never fought him.
They had Haney there, Tank never fought him.
They had Lomachenko there, Tank never fought him.

Like I said, he's never proven himself the best in any division.

Here are some numbers to tickle your fancy:

At 135, there are 2308 participants.

At 122, there are 1314 participants.

It’s a logical fallacy to treat each division as an equal.

Because he's an exciting American PBC guy whose hype outweighs his own ability or accomplishments. He has actually beaten one champion in the ring so far, Pedraza 7 years ago and hasn't had a win as good since.

    Statman returns.

He's never proven himself the best in any of his divisions.

It’s possible that I was poking fun at you with those numbers.

The root of the issue here is that you’re inventing your own weird criteria, whereas most people look at opposition beaten, in ring performance, and loses or lack thereof. You won’t catch me putting Emmanuel Rodriguez over Frank Martin due to a number or a trinket.

    Weird criteria?

If we're going to discuss the top boxers on the planet, I'm going to be discussing those who've actually proven themselves the best in their division.

Davis has never once fought a guy ranked in the top 3 of any division he's fought in. That's who he's fought, guys who sit outside the top 3.

Yes, I have him at #10.

He's just entered the top ten on my list because he was impressive against Martin, who is a decent fighter. If he fights and defeats Stevenson, Haney or Lopez he can be higher.

Outside the 10 Top until he takes on top challenger or champion on equal terms
