Where do you have Roman Gonzalez p4p?

Yeah, but just think about what you are saying. The man would have to move into a fifth or sixth weight class to beat him. It's like criticizing Duran for not being a great middleweight and losing to Hagler. You are as much as saying that he's p4p the best in the sport right now. That's the definition of pound for pound, that you'd have to move a fighter up several divisions to beat him. The only two other guys who've done that and are currently active are Pacquiao and Donaire who when they did that were ranked at the top p4p, and they've both seen better days.

 

I think top 5 is fair.

 

Whoever's alt you are, I think you should go back to trolling in Golovkin, Ward, or Mayweather threads. Not enough people care about the lower weights or about Gonzalez for you to really rile them up like you can with the others. I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt before because I figured you could be young and dumb, or from the run, hug, tag school of boxing philosophy and unable to appreciate an aggressive technician like Gonzalez. But you showed your hand when you said that Cuadras and Estrada aren't good boxers.

Estrada arguably belongs in the top 10 p4p with Gonzalez and has proved it by beating a who's who of the sport at flyweight. Cuadras just gave a great performance against one of the best fighters in the game and had previously gone 35 and 0 including several title fights.

The winner of Kovalev vs Ward will be #1. I'd say Gonzalez is in the top 5. Maybe just behind Crawford and Lomachencko.

Dude just made history being the first Nicaraguan to capture 4 titles in 4 weight divisions. And put on a hell of a performance but you want him to continue to move up to justify him being p4p #1. Gonzalez marked up against a bigger, stronger, faster guy...And that's to be expected.

But he still carried the majority of rounds (I had it 7-4-1) against the bigger, stronger, faster guy. And he came back to win the 12th after getting hurt to the body in the 11th. Finding a way to defeat a bigger, stronger, faster guy is the definition of p4p. Right now, no one this year as a better victory over a higher caliber of opponent. That may change, but right now he's still in the top position as far as I'm concerned.

 

He's still number 1 until Ward Kov and that depends on who wins and how. Roman won his 4th world title at a weight far too big for him and he pressed the champ got lumped up and won. ?Who else is doing that today?
