WOW TBRB boxing? you may as well have said you know nothing about boxing, TBRB is one of the most laughable p4p rankings in the world they have frampton above rigondeaux who dropped two belts to duck him, and who mcguigan his own manager admitted can't beat him, they have ggg over ward for god's sake! I'm referring to the Ring Rankings which have been fairly credible for years until now! like I said gonzalez was sitting at 6 p4p in the ring rankings, after beating a guy with 32 losses he was moved up to p4p 2, this was after hbo picked him up! if you can't see it's marketing you need help
Yes, but you seem bizarrely determined to hold his stay-busy fights against him. In 2014, he fought the world's #1 flyweight (Yaegashi), a top-ten ranked light-fly (Fuentes) and in two stay busy fights, against Purisma and Kantum. Most fighters don't bother with the stay busy fights; most fighters don't bother to fight this level of oppositions on undercards etc. Nobody is holding these as a part of Roman's legacy except you; it's literally just you. At the worst, they should be ignored. To understand Roman in 2014, look at his defeat of the world's best flyweight and another ranked fighter. This compares favourobly with Mayweather's 2014, where he took on the world's #7 welterweight Marcos Maidana (up to #5 by the time of their second fight).
That's fine; but Ring's rankings board are owned by a promoter and had Adrien Broner on their p4p list. If you can't see the problem here, perhaps you're the one that needs help?
mate look at your avatar admit it your a fanboy, so he's had 11 stay busy fights? come on get real, look through his record there's more than 5 fighters he's fought recently who have over 10 losses, they were not stay busy fights
Yeah, i'm a huge fan. I'm a huge fan of most boxers. I don't know. I haven't counted them. What i'm telling you is that in 2014, he had the same two marquee fights as any top pound-for-pounder, won them both dominantly, and fought two stay busy fights against lesser competition. This is bizarre nonsense. He's fought two fighters this decade with more than ten losses, by Boxrec.
soss 9 losses, Leon 32 losses, Fuentes 8 Losses Yaegashi 5 losses, Purisima 9 losses, Kantun 7 losses, Blanquet 11 losses, rodriguez jr 4 losses, Barrera 14 losses This is every fight from estrada to sosa in Order, so 10 of these fights were tune ups? get real please your soo biased
This is just freaky now...you're looking at these fighters records as they stand? And you're including as a loss the fight Gonzalez won? Blanquet had six losses at the time of their fight, not 11. Rodriguez Jnr had 1, not 4. I have literally never seen anyone rank fighters in the manner you do. I could see why you would get confused with this type of approach.
The problem with putting anyone else above Gonzalez is they can't match his pedigree. He's been a world champ since 2008 (that's before Ward-Kessler), but unlike the man from Oakland he has been active and destructive. 46-0 with 38 KO's would be a feat at one weight and British level but Roman continues to throw his diminutive figure in the way of new challenges. There's no purer definition of pound-for-pound.
Your math is off. The total number of losses from Rodriguez Jr. to Cuadras (his last eleven fights) is 69. Divide that by 11 and you've got an average of a little over 6 losses. If you take Leon's 29 loss record out of the equation (and you should, since it was a meaningless stay busy fight), the average drops significantly. Also, those 11 fights include wins over two three division titlteholders, one long reigning titleholder at 108, a partially unified titleholder @ minimumweight, and an undefeated titleholder at 115. Context is everything, and you've conveniently ignored it. Arroyo's not even close to being his best win. Estrada, Cuadras, Yaegashi, Viloria, Takayama, Ishiida, and Sosa are all better wins. Dude's resume is solid.
