A few years back people would say comparing AJ to Frank Bruno was disrespectful to AJ, and that he reached heights Bruno never did. In 2023 is that still the case looking at both their careers?
Aj has done far more. Bruno didn’t win a world title until like his 3rd or 4th attempt if im not mistaken, and then lost it the very next fight to Tyson. Im not sure if he even made an olympic team for GB, although he may have been a national amateur champion at some point. They are or were both darlings of boxing for the British fans, which is probably the only thing they have in common. Aj is just better and has achieved more in the sport. Im British, and I prefer Bruno as Aj seems to be a little overhyped against HW’s of the past but im certain he is a step ahead of Bruno
Joshua achieved more than Bruno but to be fair Joshua wasn't facing the likes of Tyson x2, Lewis, Witherspoon. If Joshua had to fight the same list of opponents he would probably lose to all 3 of them aswell.
if bruno had the crap opponents joshuas had he would of done same i reckon but lost to usyk also he wouldnt of lost to wee ruiz tho no way so bruno is better in my humble view
Are you British, is this a popular sentiment there now? Bruno was better but AJ got further due to worse competition?
