Weird you mention them fighting 3 times for the Schmeling effect, when Louis and Schmeling only fought twice.

The second half was an Andre Ward fight. The judges agreed. People on this site take issue whenever guys from east of Italy and west of China lose.

But then again, you don't think McCall knocked out Lennox Lewis.

This^ reads suspiciously like a fight that has been scored using [Compubox?] punch stats, which is not how fights are scored.

Not sure yet. Dont consider him undefeated though. I had first Kov fight 7-5 in favor of Kov.
I'd wind up ranking him at SMW though when I get around to it. LHW too deep for him to crack into the elite of the division

Pound for pound, somewhere around number 150, I'd guess.

Top three at SM and top 20 at LH. He simply did not fight enough at LH to be ranked up there with Moore, Charles, Spinks and Jones. With all that said, he would have been a hand full for all four if those guys. He is hands down a first ballot hall of famer.

Top 20 at LHW? Not sure I can imagine that...and I am a Ward appreciator, and find him fun to watch (but then again I also like Fullmer and Hatton). Not sure I see him that high at LHW

He's not even within sight of a top anything at LHW. 3 wins over low level opposition and 2 controversial wins over a good boxer don't land him anywhere near a top 30 or so.

At 168, considering many boxers from before the actual 168 title (guys like Greb and Langford fought at that weight) and some very good wins against top level opponents could get him into the top 25 at that weight.

No it wasn't. The judges robbed Kovalev, pure and simple.

I have already broke it down for you, I can do no more. He landed more punches and knocked Ward down. Nor where there a greater number of rounds in which Ward out landed him. No argument can be made for defense or effective aggression.

Be honest here...do you know the criteria for scoring a fight? Your post sounds suspiciously like you don't.

No - You haven’t. You’ve summarized the punch stats, by the looks of it.

Yes - You can. Try learning to score a fight, without the use of punch stats.

So, no argument can be made for defense and effective aggression, because of your reliance on the punch stats? OK

Honestly, judging by your posts here, I'd say you’re young and probably got into boxing as a teenager (and possibly still are one), four or five years ago, as a Kovalev fan, and that you have no clue about how to score a boxing match.

Punch stats do not score boxing matches. Get it?

Based solely on accomplishment alone, Andre Ward is a Top 5 ATG between the 168 and 175...

Find me any other light heavyweight in history that beaten
every top rated champion and contender back to back to back like Ward has done from 2010-2017

    Top-5 at SMW? Sure.
Top-5 at LHW? Not a chance.

Ward's Light Heavyweight run consists of a handful of bouts over two years. His Super Middleweight credentials likely give him an all-time ranking in that division, but these should have no bearing on how he is rated as a Light Heavyweight.

Little know fact about Andre Ward's career: The lineage of the 175 championship passed from Dariusz to Gonzalez to Erdei to Grachiev to Edwin Rodriguez. Rodriguez then lost to Ward. Ward was lineal at 175 prior to beating Kovalev and he also beat Dawson before Stevenson.
