I think most would agree that Bud and Usyk are ATGs and perhaps one of the best southpaws we've had in recent years since Manny Pacquiao. In terms of ATG ranking amongst southpaws where do you have Crawford and Usyk at currently? And if Bud were to beat Canelo convincingly does he make a case of being the best southpaw over Hagler, Whitaker, and Pacquiao?

So far we have these southpaws currently in the HOF:

    Marvin Hagler
    Pernell Whitaker
    Manny Pacquiao
    Vicente Saldivar
    Joe Calzaghe
    Hector Camacho
    Winky Wright
    Mark Johnson
    Michael Nunn
    Daniel Zaragoza
    Khaosai Galaxy
    Naseem Hamed
    Hilario Zapata
    Michael Moorer
    Tiger Flowers
    Freddie Miller
    Flash Elorde
    Yoko Gushiken

Usyk is only behind Pacquiao based on that list. Crawford is neck and neck with Whitaker and edging out Hagler. If Crawford beats Canelo, he should be number 2 overall.

    1. Pacquiao
    2. Usyk
    3. Hagler
    4. Whitaker
    5. Crawford

Crawford is probably the most skilled of the bunch but his resume of wins isn't that great. Even though he has fought everyone there is to fight.

    1. Pacquiao
    2. Whitaker
    3. Usyk
    4. Hagler
    5. Crawford

Would be my top 5 for now.

If Crawford beats Canelo he sky rockets up the rankings but for now despite Crawford's achievements the notable names just aren't on his resume atm to be ranked above the other 4.

Not sure I can rank someone who couldn't even beat a Barrios who is probably on the downward slope now alongside those other great southpaws if I'm being honest

Young Corbett III is a HOF southpaw.. he was an exceptional fighter by all accounts, a brilliant counter puncher.. flys under the radar tho because there is no widely available footage of him.. his era also had fewer weight classes and less global exposure which can make his achievements seem less expansive compared to modern fighters.

Corbett retired with a record of 123-12-20 & tho a natural WW (a great one at that) he moved to 160lbs later in is career & beat future LHW greats Billy Conn & Gus Lesnevich & MW greats Fred Apostoli & Mickey Walker.

Southpaws were pretty rare in his era & often faced bias with some gyms discouraging left handed stances or converting southpaws to orthodox.. His success as a southpaw in the 1920/30s when orthodox fighters dominated and highlights his adaptability and skill IMO..

    Very underappreciated fighter.

Two more HOF southpaws you forgot are Lew Tendler & Lou Brouillard.. again both very underrated and under appreciated in their own right too. Theres probably more also.. but those are 3 i can think of that you've left out.

Are you seriously judging Pacquiao’s performance at 46 coming off of a 4 year lay-off?

Do you think he's lost a step and is on the slide now?

Usy & Crawford fight in an era of performance enhancing drugs, they also have next day weigh ins which allow weight grifting.. in Crawfords case anyway.. they wear 8 to 10 oz gloves which lessen punch impact & they don't fight anywhere near as frequently as those fellas did back in the day which makes it easier for them to maintain an undefeated record.. they fight in an era with more trinket belts, making it easier to claim yourself a champion, unless u are undisputed.. they also fight in an era that has many more divisions, diluting talent pool per division & making it easier to be a multi weighter.

So no i don't rank either as the greatest, Crawford ESPECIALLY.

I think he may have lost a step and his best days are probably behind him
