Where would you rank Floyd in terms of pure boxing ability and skills?

Boxing ability and skills: Top 10 ever.

I feel very differently about where he ranks all time resume wise though.

without real adversity to test him...it's hard to say. he's a victim of his own success. he's not been tested in a very long time imo.

^ That is a valid point also. I think Rigo ranks high in this area too, resume not considered.

He's a victim of his own sub-par abilities as a competitive matchmaker.

Very highly in that he has found a style that is very hard to beat. I don't know if he could bamboozle a Pryor, Duran, Benitez or Hearns, but he has been very effective in his era which is all you can do. Not fighting Pacquiao will always count against him, though.

It's his only chance at redemption imo as far as the public is concerned, maybe more historically. He hasn't fought anyone worthy straight up, where he hasn't stacked the deck totally in his favor one way or another. I hope he fights Pac, then there won't be any disagreement upon where the chips actually fall.

His ability to cherry pick is unparalleled in boxing history.

I can't argue with that really, that's the situation and has been for a long time.

Is that like Pernell Whitaker, being "too good" for his own good?
