Not sure why you are trying to derail this thread. Yes Hopkins lost, but it was a competitive fight that deserves mention. Same goes for Roberto Duran. It's not like you are going to leave out the fact that he fought Hearns and Hagler just because he lost. Please add insight.

losing to a legend is better than beating a bum.

it;s like the silver medalist losing to the eventual gold winner.

silver is better than the guy (bronze) who beat the number 4 guy.

theftjr is the perrenial bronze guy. feedign on bums to pad his record.

    46 and 0 accomplishment.

46 have tried, 46 have failed to provide legacy.:deal

No. According to that logic, Juan LaPorte is the greatest of all time.

Not once in his career has Bernard Hopkins beaten a great fighter close to prime that wasn't naturally smaller than Bernard.

Very true, except eventually, some may regard Shumenov as a great fighter, and Murat might become a solid prime win as well.:think

If he beats kov and Stevenson

Then he'll be just behind calzaghe as the best of the era in the weight class

    Doesn't matter what he does

He still lost to jones and calzaghe when's mattered

And stank the scene out for 20 years

    Always behind pacquiao for achievements

Ahead of mayweather and Floyd will never catch up

Those two are definitely better than Tarver, Johnson and Pavlik.

I believe all 5 of those fighters are good, but nothing close to great. If they fought in the Saad, Spinks, Qawi era, nobody would have heard of them.

It would be an incredible achievement at 50 to unify the light heavyweight division and for the 2nd time be recognised as the true champion at 175lbs.

Though I just can't see it happening. His decline in recent years is there for everybody to see and Kovalev and Stevenson are both very, very dangerous and favourites over Hopkins.

It would be a mind boggling achievement, I can't fully get my head around it, it's just too out there for me to even contemplate happening.

LOL. If Floyd fought in the SRL era he'd end up like his Father.
If Vlad was in the Ali era he wouldn't beat the contenders.
If GGG was in he Hagler era, he'd be baked.

We could do this all day. :yep

If he beat Kov and Adonis then we're looking at an ATG. Can't see it happening though.
