As long as there are ten fighters, there is a top 10 list. There have been 10 fighters. Of the boxers you mentioned, only Jack Johnson is still top 10 worthy; but that would not have been the case in 1910. In 1910; Johnson, Jeffries, Corbett, Fitzsimmons, and Burns would have been on most all time lists if such lists were done. As years and fighters go, rankings change.

If you don't believe in doing such lists, that's one thing. Ranking 3 fighters and listing the rest vacant is just ridiculous, unless there had only been 3 heavyweights to this point.

Vovchanchyn and Arlovski, not a chance. They will not ever be able to overcome Randy's resume since they're pretty much done at this point.

Kharitonov, Mir, Werdum, and JDS are all active, and all have a chance to surpass Couture. Couture is not head and shoulders above any of those fighters. Dos Santos could do it in his next fight, if he is able to beat Cain.

Couture does not have a status that is as firmly placed as Fedor, Nog, and Cro Cop. Randy's spot will be taken easier than their will. Still, in this young sport, Couture has done more than enough to be a top 10 at it thus far. Saying he doesn't belong in the near top 10 really shows a lack of knowledge about the sport.

Beekeeper, you're still a noob, and I'm not surprised that you would have him outside of yours. You also didn't say he didn't belong anywhere near the top ten, which would suggest something like 20th or worse.

Scurla is the one I'm surprised about. I've seen him post some stupid things, but this is just about the stupidest.

The fact that you resort to just calling me a newb shows that your arguments for Randy in the top 5 are shaky at best.

Each one of the fighters I listed is better than anyone Randy has beaten, bar Arlovski, who still has faced and beaten a better list of heavys imo

No, it doesn't. I'm not resorting to calling you a noob. I'm stating a fact. You are new. There's nothing wrong with that. The insult was aimed at scurla, not you.

Whether they are better, or not, than the fighters Randy has beaten isn't the issue. They haven't defeated a better list of opponents than Randy has, which is the issue. Also, keep in mind, that while I currently rank Couture 5th; I don't have a problem with someone not having them in their top 5. Scurla said he doesn't belong "anywhere near" the heavyweight top 10, all time. "Anywhere near" suggests there is a plethora of fighters at heavyweight to put in front of him. That is stupid.

What im trying to get at is if you start ranking any fighter in the top ten it dilutes what makes an all time great.

There is too much argument for Randy not being a great heavyweight....he was good not great. You might aswell have Slyvia or Arlovski as all time greats.

It should only be special fighters who are considered great.

In 19 fights he lost 6 times,-

I agree, he has to be near the top 10 based on accomplishments, but putting him just after Barnett is too high for me because I see Werdum's Kharitonov's and Mir's credentials clearly better at HW.

So if we were honest the top level wins he had at heavyweight are -

Ok il break down each fighter he beat- Record

WIN - Vitor Belfort (Top level fighter 19 Wins/ 9 Losses)
WIN- Jeremy Horn (top level fighter really a light-heavyweight)
    WIN- P. Rizzo (Top Level - 19 wins/ 9 Losses
WIN- P. Rizzo II (Top Level -
    WIN- T. Slyvia (Top Level - 28 Wins/ 7 Losses)
    WIN. G. Gonzaga (Top Level - 11 Wins/ 6 Losses)

He Has 6 wins at the top level which in my mind would the top 25 fighters in the world at that time....you could add in Kevin Randelman but still then you could take on of the Rizzo fights.

I have Barnett ranked right behind Cro-Cop, securely at #4

    Fedor
    Nog
    Cro-Cop
    Barnett

I would like to see a good argument for placing Barnett lower than #4 all time heavy(besides him failing the steroid tests)

That's the thing, if you count these guys then how can you not count Igor's wins over Sakuraba and Wandy and say that Randy is way above him

(Directed to the guy that said that)
