I say Top 100, but close to the top 50. The last time I thought Floyd had a chance to lose was against Diego Corrales(I was wayyyy off). He picks his opponents very wisely, but to get into the top 50, he needs some tougher challenges against top guys in HIS division. Fight Cotto and Mosley, if he beats both, he's top 20.

I think he's top 15-25 range. He could possibly get inside the top 10 with wins over Cotto and Williams and if he continues to remain undefeated. Too bad there's not a Duran around to really give him a test and see where he stands.

Lets remove the conjecture (never would lose is an invalid argument and so is never lost, considering he hasn't faced another prime ATG like the other fighters mentioned).

The WBC is not the top belt, and before you say it was the first belt, it wasn't. And lets remove the 5 weight class champion, because if you are not going to count pre war, I am not going to give him an advantage based on their being more titles and more weight classes. He was only champion at 3 of those weight classes, still an accomplishment.

PBF is a great fighter with a good but not great resume. He is top 20 at best, top 75 at worst. I have him top 30. There are equally talented or close to it with deeper resumes and more concrete accomplishments.

HIS division is 130. :yep :yep

I agree with you: He has to fight Cotto. And Cotto has to fight him.

Mosley? I don't know. Sugar Shane just lost and he will turn 37 years old next year.

1stly... Im not a massive fan of mayweather as I dont like the way he acts, I havent liked the way he has fought in a lot of his bouts & he`s always talking money before legacy & this from a man who is set for life in a big way were money is concerned.
I always root against him but after the last victory, I have no option but to admit.....

He is the best in the last 10-15 yrs
He is defo top 20 all time
He will be top 10 all time if he beats cotto & 1 or 2 others, maybe just cotto himself as I consider cotto his biggest threat.

I still dont like all this retirement talk, its not kind to the fans as even tho I dont like his personality, I love to see him box, its art & this from a guy who wanted hatton to make him bleed internally.

I`ll never be his biggest fan but will always be a huge admirer.
If floyd never fought again, it would be a tragedy for boxing fans, even those who root against him.

In the past 15 years, I can name 3 fighters better than him off the top of my head and only one is arguable IMO. RJJ, Whitaker, and Chavez. Only Jones Jr is arguable, and thats only on resume, which may slightly got to PBF.

No one going to take me up on my offer????

If Mayweather waits 2 years for Cotto to clean up (beats williams, margorito, cintron, de la hoya) then comes back and beats him in the same way Cotto did will the be enough for top 10?

    He would be Top10.

    But:

    1. Mayweather would be past his prime after two years of inactiveness.

    2. Cotto won't fight Williams, Margarito, Cintron and De la Hoya.

Why do people speak so good about the past.

50 years ago people were saying Robsinson would never beat, 30 years ago Ali would never beat, 20 years ago Lenoard would never beat, today there saying Floyd would never beat.

In 2 years time when Cotto has cleaned up he will be huge, and everyone will be saying he would never beat PBF, Top 5 of all time, and they will have the biggest Fight of the Millenium! Give PBF warm up first!

Thats more or less the way I feel aswell.

Its close between floyd & jones but floyd`s resume beats jones.

Of fighters who have fought in the past 15 yrs.... only whitaker & chavez beat mayweather.... BUT.... & here`s the thing....

Go back 15 yrs, we land on 1992/93.... pernell & chavez AT THAT TIME although still great fighters, were not in their prime (especially chavez)

Dont get me wrong, it could STILL be argued that both were better from that period onwards than anything floyd has done but julio was on the path downwards & whitaker had left his best division behind which was 135.

How do you like this statement then.... Only chavez & Whitaker done more in the last 20 yrs to be called better.

Well we have different criteria. See PBF has a slightly deeper resume than Jones (though less champions). But Jones is better at the top with at least 3 ATG while PBF only has 1 ATG. But I count Jones dominance as being a big plus, putting him ahead of PBF.

As far as done more.....statistically no one has done more than PBF in recent memory.
