All time ranking should be base on achievements. He didn’t do much in his career.

The performance against Usyk is outweighed by the performance against Ngannou for me; that was such a bad performance against a novice that it knocks him down a good 10/15 places. His resume will age like milk; he lacks the consistency and names to be near the top 20.

Could have broke the top ten for me. But his careers been such a mess in terms of legacy. Just a fella who,s mental health held him back from achieving a lot more than he did in terms of cv.

Cant have him in the top ten for that reason alone. A genuine freak of nature. For a man his size he shouldnt have the footwork he does or the speed or the stamina. He can properly fight as well. Hes put work in over the years but in honesty hes a natural.

Mentally imo hes one step ahead in a boxing ring and it took a genuine top ten all time great to get the better of him.

Toyed with chisora. Beat whyte with ease. Battered wilder when he turned up in good condition and had klitchko under control. These guys wont take him into the top ten considering chisoras a bit of a journeyman, whytes not a great, klitchko was 38 and wilder hasnt ever actually properly proven himself. But no one really controlled klitchko. No one beat chisora that easily. Or whyte at that stage of his career. Or wilder up to that point.

His talent was top level imo. His cv isnt and thats pretty much how he,ll be judged. He achieved a lot but mental weaknesses probably outwith his control probably cost him a top ten placing.

I do think this is a good summary of things. And his mental health issues did affect his career somewhat, which I don't think is acknowledged that much. But I would say that what damaged his standing much more than mental health was an active avoidance of top and varied competition. He could still have made a real impact post Wilder 2, but chose not to seek out fighters who could have solidified his reputation more.

Graded him 25-30 because that’s as low as I could grade him on the poll.

In reality he drops another 10 places, possibly more.

What makes these kind of debates tricky is mixing in people's view about a boxer's head to head abilities with their resumes. With the current generation of fighters, they have very thin resumes. The ATG's of the past had long resumes against top contenders. Muhammed Ali had 61 pro fights, 25 of them were world title fights. Tyson Fury had 37 fights, and 8 were world title fights. There is just no way Fury ranks anywhere close to Ali when it comes to accomplishments. But one of the reasons we know he can mix it up with the ATGs is because he defeated Klitschko who is definitely an ATG, who had 69 fights, and 29 were world title fights.

I tend to try and keep H2H abilities out of my own personal rankings of fighters because those are just too hard to predict, so I prefer to rank fighters based on just their accomplishments. I haven't studied each heavyweight, but I know he definitely isn't in the top 10. Probably more like a 20-30 range champion. If it was head to head I think he would rank higher though.

Yeah, I think that's pretty fair. But I also think he'd beat the top 5 in his prime or at least have a very good chance of doing it. These people lost to inferior characters, so it's not just baseless speculation he could do it.

For example one that always comes up is Lewis, who we all know got destroyed twice by mediocre fighters. That has never happened to Fury.

Then we have Tyson, who ironically Luke Fury was named after but who actually has no heart and determination when challenged. He literally folded to Holyfield, fell over dead against Lewis and quit later on also.

Ali/Frazier/Foreman v Fury is just laughable but people are deluded. Ali has no power, Frazier is a midget and Foreman is the slowest fighter of all time.

Wlad he beat (post prime Wlad) but this suggests Fury may have also done it to a prime Wlad. Vitali is just an arm-punching robot who would be clueless against Fury, honestly. Wlad was more skilled and didn't know what to do. But we'll never know about the K brothers.

Fury isn't quite done yet so it's too early to judge his resume. He might just comeback and beat some top fighters and suddenly things would change. Or he might come back and get destroyed. Or he might do nothing. But I suspect he wants to get a belt again and pump his resume up a little after losing to Usyk.

    Fury is no Great!

He is very good, beat faded Klitshko, limited Wilder, competed with Usyk, but nothing of these is great, so he is not on the list
